About The Haven

Square Haven takes the selfless pride in providing coverage of and detailing the intricacies related to videogames and other forms of media produced or developed by Square Enix. It launched March 28, 1998 under the soulful guidance of one BahaMatt who remains on board to this day. Many contributors have come and gone in years past, although several have stuck around long enough to bring lasting influences (the Albums Database, for instance) that put the site that much ahead of the "competition".

Today Square Haven is still one of the most informative and in-depth overviews of the history and games of Squaresoft and Square Enix; its edge lies in its unique ability to speak vapidly about otherwise serious issues, take Square Enix only as seriously as its own college drunkenness and inability to graduate within four years, and the community of less-than-completely-useless Official Square Haven Vapid Buttmunches that frequent its comment threads and forums.

• It is coded and created with HTML, XHTML, PHP, MySQL, and CSS on Wordpad/UltraEdit, while all graphics are created or edited with Adobe PhotoShop.
