FINAL FANTASY SONG BOOK mahoroba is an interesting album in that it takes some of the more obscure Final Fantasy tracks and crafts what many would describe as "beautiful" arrangements from them. The point doesn't seem to be to overwhelm the teenage fan obsessed with big explosions as was the case with THE BLACK MAGES, but instead provide an easy-listening, though sometimes slightly overproduced, background album consisting of some of the more pleasant tracks from Final Fantasy's history. It even seems like it caters to a specific core audience, with a Japanese version of Final Fantasy VIII's Eyes On Me, which was originally in English, available.
