Im still not gonna buy it or even play it most probably, since im confident the gameplay will still be shitty.
But at least Im glad they finally upped the polycount and did a decent texture job on the bitch

I'm just wondering what kind of excuse they're going to come up with when it fails horribly. Remember when The second Tomb Raider movie came out and didn't do too well? they blamed it on 'Tomb Raider:Angel of Darkness', saying it's poor sales and horrible gameplay put a bad image on the movie (instead of admitting that the movie sucked balls) |

when will they just give up? |
vip |
Never.
Tomb Raider (either as a game, movie, or just plain whoring out Lora's image) are probably the only thing keeping the company above water....:D |
vip |
actually I think they have several things keeping them above water, like the legacy of Kain series, but the last LoK game came out around fall 2003. Smaller franchises and somewhat smaller sales figures seem to give Eidos just enough to break even and crank out more crap like Tomb Raider games. |

Oh come on guys, do your homework even if you dont like the franchise:
Eidos is not actually making the game this time around, they gave the handles over to Crystal Dynamics (who in my opinion is a far more capable company), although Eidos will most probably be managing the distribution duties at the end. Another one of the good things is that they brought back the original character designer.
Dont get me wrong, i still think itll suck, but at least theyre starting to move in the right direction |

Crystal Dynamics you say? hmm....my interest in this game just went from "I'm totally ignoring this piece of donkey shit" to "Hmmm....I think i'll be interested for a little while and then forget about it until it's $4.00 in a bargain bin at EBgames..." ...interesting indeed ;) |

Yeah, the Tomb Raider title alone is only worth a glance in the bargain bin. Until they actually turn the series around, or do something totall genre defying or groundbreaking, I'm gonna ignore it. |

A move in the right direction a little too late. I don't think people will be willing to take it seriously given the series's already horrible report card. |

Speaking of doing homework, Eidos has never created Tomb Raider, only published it (which they will continue to do, unless the upcoming Eidos buyout screws something up). Core originally created the franchise, but Lara was airlifted to the safety of Kain experts Crystal Dynamics after Angel of Darkness failed to perform. This was because AoD was riddled with design flaws and full of bugs. Tomb Raider itself as an original game and concept is one of the AA+ in the industry, so by all means, reclaim some of that past glory and bring something new, CD!
Anyhow, someone kindly explain how the rear view of that model has her left butt cheek pulled up as if she has her leg up, but both legs are reasonably straight and she's not leaning on either hip? Looks funky. |
vip |
Maybe she's doing some kind of funky butt-crunch? Gotta keep that ass in shape for the fanboys, ya know!!! |
vip |
mmm.. well the model is not on her neutral pose anyways (you can tell by some texture stretching on the hip) so im sure its more of an optical effect, if you saw the same pose from a side view Im confident it would look fine |
|
The new look for Lara is not to bad. The only Tomb Raider game I ever played were from Demos.I have a very strong feeling that I will not give a care about the new TR game. One thing for sure is I like the intro music on start screen in TR: The Last Revelation when I was playing the demo version, that damn freaking song always has me humming it for the rest of the day. |

Assuming the two views are supposedly of the same model, why are the legs positioned differently for the rear compared to the front? Am I looking at this wrong? |
vip |
yeah its the same model on both pictures, with the same pose too (notice how the left leg is pushed back and the left hip raised on both pics) |
|
Just so long as Crystal Dynamics can succesfully carry cores torch of 'king of stretchy-shirt physics' ill be happy |

I'm kind of excited about Tomb Raider Anniversary. |
