I've decided to start this thread because, out of all the senseless ramble and nostalgia we proceed to dish out here on our beloved SHMFoD, we sometimes forget to speak about the new releases and upcoming games we anticipate with great desire. I for one have been caught up in life... imagine that... and have failed to keep an eye out for the killer new releases coming up, particularly in the RPG genera.
So this is you chance to inform not only my lost and behind the times self about what’s hot and what’s not, but to also provide a statement about these grandiose titles and let everyone know what makes them so keen.
I do not hesitate to mention that this is my lazy attempt to get you all to provide me the information, but you know what they say! Sharing is caring and all that rot! So hit me with a title; what should I spend my time and money(when I should be saving every cent for that damn PS3, 360 and Revolution... christ that’s going to be as expensive as a down payment on a new car...*SOB*) on?

I like the sprites.
So I'm probably going to pick of Altelier Iris: Eternal Mana, and Makai Kingdom, which releases on the 27th.
I should get my fill of sprites. |

I plan on obtaining Makai Kingdom, Puyopop Fever, the new Harvest Moon for GBA, and Pump it Up: Exceed. |

Make it three. Nippon Ichi has a way with strange anime-inspired demonic goodness.

KH II, FFXII, and let's not forget Radatia Stories. I was never a gamer really, just with select titles. |

I would have mentioned Radiata, but SO3 was so plagued with delays that I am expecting it in 2008...3 years before FFXII. |

Hey I can wait, I really can, just you watch. Although the wait for KH II is really testing that patience. |

I agree completely Nephtis. After completing KH, I was totally fascinated and intrigued with Deep Dive, so, like many before me, I did a little research online and discovered the ansem report. I've had a little of my own speculation as to what the clues left behind in the first KH could mean for the second one, but nothing too extravagant that is worth a mention. But I tell you what, KH did a helluva job sparking interest in its players. This game, in my humble opinion (as well as many others), seems to be the first thing Disney has done right in a long while... thank god they left its development in others more capable hands to pull off. But, if anything like its predecessor, KH2 should be one bodacious game. Can't wait.

FYI: Radiata Stories has an official release date: September 16. ( source)
I also can't wait for Dragon Quest VIII!! (November 15) |

I know they say the release date is upcoming...but Star Ocean 3 was so riddled with delays that I have little to no confidence in their ability to handle a Tri-Ace game. |
staff |
Why, Rachel? Are you expecting a "Radiata Stories: Director's Cut"? |
staff |
No...what would they do for that? 152 characters and a bonus dungeon? |
|
I'm looking forward to most of the aforementioned games, as well as Digital Devil Saga 2. |

Well, that is why Star Ocean 3 was delayed so terribly; about a year.
Seeing as how you've just pointed out that no such thing will happen with Radiata, I see no reason why Enix can't meet the September 6th release date.
The last time was an isolated incident. I can't recall any trouble with releasing any other tri-Ace games. |

You people are bitchy here. I feel welcomed.
Did Squenix give an official press release with a SO3 date and then have it changed? I'm rather inclined to believe that it'll be released on the date the firm says it will. (Plus, I have insider knowledge.) *wink wink* *nudge nudge* *seizure seizure* |

I thought that changing it to the director's cut version only added a few months on what was already a long delayed game? |
staff |
Yeah, it was delayed like crazy...then a month before a February release, they push it back to summer...then later say it's for the DC version.
So yes, it was delayed waaaay before they announced DC. |

*holds his copy of Makai Kingdom*
This one got my money. |

*shakes fist vehemently at Ziyad*
I want my Nippon Ichi strategy rpg lovin' :( It's probably going to take over a year for it to come out here like it did for Disgaea. |

Meanwhile, you have plenty of time to beat Uber Prinny Baal. Just look at it as an opportunity to do more with Disgaea than I did. |

Wow, that is just not cool. |
