Resident Evil 4!!! This game is so scary! And great. Less survival-theme, more of an action feel, which makes it even more scary to me. I've been having nightmares, waking up crying for a shotgun. Damn zombies... Playing this around Halloween time is so freaking great! |

Resident Evil... yeah buddy.
I hear that the PS2 is packed with more goodies than it's original.
Which pissed me off, because I bought the GC version 2 months before the PS2 version came out.
Oh well.
At least I have Big Bertha (my chainsaw controller) to keep me warm @ night. I really don't need no shotgun if I have any bad dreams about those freaky europeons. You gotta fight fire with fire. |

Here are my thoughts...
Resident Evil 4 is great fun, although slightly tedious in some aspects. To me, it feels less scary because of the whole set up. If you were forced to run and hide, maybe I would reconsider that, but since you're given such an abundant amount of ammo, it's hard to feel scared. The only time I can remember getting 'jolted' involved a stray villager showing up unexpectedly (son of a bitch grabbed me from behind), and when I ran into good old Dr. Salvador and his trusty chainsaw. I feel the game was set up AMAZINGLY. The story was really gripping, until it took a predictable downward spiral. It is a great game, yes, but hardly deserving of the extreme amount of praise it is getting, as I see it. That's just my feelings on the matter. |

¿Qué carajo estás haciendo aquí? Lárgate cabrón. (What the first villager says Leon.)
I never knew how cool Spanish was until I played this.
CH raises a good point, RE4 just wasn't scary enough. Zombies are scary, head popping parasites aren't. And those bosses were too boring. I was expecting more from the final boss, well more than a couple of easy shots and a rocket launcher. That is probably my main problem with RE4, it was just too easy on standard difficulty, they should have just had professional available at the start to make it more interesting. |
