Found this awhile ago, thought it was amusing

Just wanted to know what you're thoughts are on live performance advertisments and marketing in comparison to adverts on concentrating on graphics. There have been adverts for awhile involving real people acting out games but considering the whole row over the pre-rendered stuff like the Killzone 2 trailer and the Call of Duty 2 advertisment, I'm just wondering whether it will stay around over pre-rendered stuff or whether the pre-rendered stuff will disappear through the controversy. In a way, both methods do the same thing, they both represent an image of a game that is what the game really is.
Don't know about you guys but I enjoyed some of the acted out adverts I have seen, they can be quite amusing when done well. On the other hand the pre-rendered stuff can be quite misleading, it does make a game look better than it does and I can understand why people would complain but then again you must be pretty stupid to believe the real game will look that way. At least with the acted out advertisment, unless you are a moron, you know that playing Prince of Persia will not give you the ability to jump buildings and etc.
So yeah... did any of that make any sense to any of you? |
