oh its about the band called Final Fantasy.

It's mostly violin and some other instruments as well.

i heard a cover that he did of a joanna newsom song, and that was a bit dodgy. but some other songs i heard were quite good.

oh yeah, supposedly he did some of the orchestral stuff for the arcade fire as well

So can they're not associated with Square? This is actually the first time hearing of them.
pixel
yeah they're not associated with square.

just the name final fantasy thats where the connection ends.

Ah, I see. So are they......good?
pixel
hahah yes, but of course it always depends on your preference of music.

However this band should appeal to wide masses, unless your a devout follower of metal music. His newest release, "He Poos Clouds" has many intricate melodies and layers of instruments.

Not really a band, but just artist Owen Pallett.

I LOVE Final Fantasy. Fantastic music to be sure. And yes, as far as I'm aware, it is named after the video game series. A little unusual, maybe - but creative and beautiful.

Yes, his newest album is "He Poos Clouds." It's amazing, especially the songs "Song Song Song" and "This Lamb Sells Condos"

Hmm, wow. I'm checking out a few sample tracks from the artist's Myspace profile and it's actually pretty cool stuff (even though there doesn't seem to be any uber, fantastic music). I expected something much more ordinary from a person naming himself after one of the most popular video game series. The instrumentation is nifty, but I could do without the vocals.
