I hear there's a crap loads of game stores in the U.S, and the only one I know is EB. What are good game stores? Where do you people shop? I'm interested because one of my friends is going over there and wants to check them out. There's a far greater amount of games available over there after all.

haha, well you have GAMESTOP which USED to be the competition, but then EB got bough by Gamestop-, so thats over (both stores remain named the same, but wtf, fo reals)

Those two are the biggest, then youll find misc places like Game Crazy (a section of Hollywood Video - a video rental store-), buying games at Blockbuster or whatever the fuck local places you come across (also places like wal mart, target, etc)

yeah I just recently found out EB and Gamestop are the same. I used to work at an EB. it's usually cheaper at one of those two stores because you can get pre played games as opposed to getting it at a place like Target or Best Buy. I'm not sure of any other small game stores because gamestop and eb is all they have around me.

i find cheap games at toys r us all the time. Walmart has pretty good prices, and Target sometimes puts games on sale for nice prices.

Don't diss Akihabara, that place rocks. All those gadgets and strange electronics, it's a geek's wet dream, wapanese or not.

Well I wasn't dissing Akihabara.

If your buddy gets the opportunity to search through the phone books to whereever they're staying, have them try to find a 'mom and pop' type gaming shop... That's where I get all my luck... but I've been going there for a few YEARS now, so :P
