I'm starting a new thread because the title on the last one has become so misleading.
So, to pick up where we left off:

yeah I was like 'ehh why play hard mode when I can play normal' I wouldnt go as far as to say wuss because I didn't choose easy. but now that I look back proud mode is preferrable since some of these side quests are HARD... all these posters in under 30 seconds... FUCK! and you know, its hard and annoying, annoyingness in videogames is really really annoying.
and I just found out that completeing the journal also means completing the moogle synthesis shop shit... I might just replay the whole damn thing on proud mode and finish before doing this shit.
you tube is looking nice.
I'm finally at the last save point so I got the goddess of fate cup and all the rest, I didn't beat it with 3000 points though but all I need is one more orichalcum + in order to get my ultama weapon, then I'm going on to Sephiroth, then I get the Fenrir which supposedly helps with the maniac phil training thing that I can't get more than 600 points on...
and I'll just have to see about the item synth and the one heartless I somehow managed to never encounter that will cost me the secret ending... I wanna do the sephiroth quest regardless so I'll worry about that for now. I don't have the 'glide' ability yet though which I'm reading is extremely helpful... and since every time I've tried to face him in the past he has KICKED MY ASS ROYALLY I think I can use all the help I can get. It's not fair, I kick his ass every time in Kingdom Hearts 1... that should like carry over magically to this game damn them!
I've already got Ultima and I can say with a certainty it doesn't help with Sephiroth. The attack strength is the as the Oblivion, and the magic boost doesn't help at all.
I'm having an annoying time completing everything; that Magic Carpet ride in Agrabah is bothering me because the mission necessitates 65 enemies destroyed and I can't get past 64. Likewise I'm waiting on glide to get the poster challenge under 30 seconds (So far, I'm to 44).
As for Phil's training: When the large pots show up, position yourself so that the maximum number of small ones are behind it when you attack with a finisher and break the large one. It acts as a multiplier and your points will fly up quickly. |

Don't worry about glide, you don't need it, Aerial Dodge + Aerial Spiral will get you to Sephy from any side of the map before he churns out Sin Harvest. Aerial Dodge will also help you jump over and away from his standard ground combo since it doesn't hit high, which is much safer than quick running away. High Jump might help as well. He is actually quite easy if you play it safe.
And Ziyad, MP hastega helps an absolute crapload when you're a low level. Last edited by Quale on April 17, 2006 |

Just wanted to point out that hard mode in KH2 is slightly easier than normal mode in KH1 |

Sheesh, the way people have been carrying on about KH2 in the forums. |

good idea for making the new topic!

The magic carpet ride I just did over and over until I got it, I had the same problem where I kept getting 64 instead of 65 I really don't know what I did differently I know I just retried it four or five times in order to get it.
As for Phil's training: When the large pots show up, position yourself so that the maximum number of small ones are behind it when you attack with a finisher and break the large one. It acts as a multiplier and your points will fly up quickly.
I try to go for the big pots, I think my combos are messing me up and taking up all my time. I have equipped the Negative combo ability but it doesn't seem to help I guess I need to keep trying.

yeah I noticed, I got the weapon, tried him out and he still kicked my ass, I did make a pretty good dent though I kept playing him over and over to get a feel for the strategy and I got about half his HP gone, I feel like kind of a bad gamer since other people were saying they beat him at level 55 and 60.... I'm only at level 70. I think my problem is that I never bothered leveling my forms so I didn't get any of those abilities like high jump etc... I started working on that now. |

I might be mistaken, but I don't think you understand what I'm saying. Destorying the large pots alone won't get you anything. Just like that junk buster mini-game, you need to put the little pots BEHIND the big pot when you attack it. Then you'll get some two to three hundred coins (are they coins?) per large pot. |
vip |
you mean move them around? I'll try it... I probably don't get it because I can't possibly imagine how to do the junk buster thing the amount of time he wants me to... I always have like 20 hits HAHA I suck. |
staff |
Junk buster is actually really easy, seing as how you can....that's right...phsyically move the pieces of junk around. I stuck them all in the center and did one combo.
But for Phil's training: When the large pot appears, it appears with various small ones. Lock on to the large one, but move yourself so that the large pot is between you and the other small ones. Then combo and that's it. |
vip |
do you equip negative combo or does it not matter? when I tried piling the junk together the first hit of my combo move scattered a bunch of them. |
vip |
why would you ever equip negative combo? I see no use for it :| |
staff |
It reduces the number of attacks you have to go through before you reach your finishing move in a combo, which is useful when the number of hits is counted and the only attack that works is the finisher. |
vip |
like he said, its useful for mini games and such... |
vip |
Interesting! Now that I got the ending though, im really lacking motivation to do anything else (that and I started playing Suikoden V, wooo!) |
staff |
Yeah, send that over to me when you're done. |
|
Oh my God I just tried fighting Sephiroth in KH2! I'm at level 60, so I figure that's what I beat him at in the first game, so what the heck? NAH> He whooped my ass in, like 3 seconds. Arrg, I felt so forlorned........raising levels is sooooooo boring...... and finding shit fir recipes sucks too! But other than that the game freakin' rocks! The animation is incredible! |
vip |
yeah its frustrating, I was thinking of putting in my old KH and beating him there just to gain myself confidence but then remembered I had a paper to write so no Kingdom Hearts of any sort allowed until thats over with... |
|
Hey I managed to take away 2 bars! New RECORD (for me) arrrg! How many does he have? Like 18?!?!? Stupid Sephiroth......*grumble grumble* *falls asleep in soup* |
vip |
yeah I finally finished this final paper I had been working on so tonight I'm going to try him again haha |

Glide does come in handy, when he starts doing an aerial combo, you can tap the button for glide and get a split second to start a counter-combo. |
|
Mmmmmm.....that's about the only thing I could do keep Sephiroth at bay, but still TWO bars? Rats. He just uses too many combo hits. I guess what I will really need to work on is the guard ability. In this game (unlike the first) you have to use it! It forces you too. In a way that's a good thing, though. I like challenges. hahaha. (and I know, a fangirl moment, but hey? Aren't we all like this sometimes?) But I went all retarded when I saw Riku, and forgot what they were even talking about, especially since it was critical story moment. Hoot! Hoooott! :o |

I found you can get the same effect with aerial recovery. |
vip |
well I just tried him again I still don't have glide, I think I got about half way I'll try one more time before going to sleep |
vip |
ok, hate to double post buuuttt... I got another question.
has anyone actually finished everything to get the secret ending yet (those of you wimps like me on normal mode)
we gotta do the entire synth shop. I think I screwed myself because I have no more orichalcums and I have to synth goofy's ultimate weapon + version. I haven't completed the store yet, I'm still searching for some materials for it, but I've already gotten the one for getting over 1000 items and used it on the weapon so what happens now? do you get it as a reward for doing any of the tournaments? because the only heartless I've read you can get it from is that rare one and I've only seen it once, and it gave me something else. =( |
|
Damn, I don't even know what THAT heartless looks like......... and I found it easier to stay alive longer with Sephiroth, if I actually avoid gliding, staying on the ground and timing my guards just right...... |
vip |
I just beat him at level 83 and I still don't have the glide ability. next time I get a chance to play I'm going to go ahead and beat the game, I really don't feel like searching around for all these random synth items to finish the list and I don't even know if I can get that last orichalcum so whatever. I still have the link saved to the secret ending on youtube.com and then I think I'm gonna replay through the entire game again on difficult mode. |
vip |
dunno about the materials cause I used that one material to cut the number of items by half (which really helped with Soras Ultimate Weapon, for instance) |
vip |
yeah but it requires one and I don't have one and it won't cut in half something that requires only one. it doesn't matter, too much other shit I have to find as well. I'd rather spend the time on playing it again on difficult rather than doing stupid shit I dont even wanna do you know? |
|
Sweet. I still need to work on Sephiroth, but it's seems like a lot of trouble. Is it really worth it? Oh, and I think you get glide if you level up the final form. Isn't that the one? Last edited by BellaniƱa on April 23, 2006 |

yes you get it from the final form. but I didn't feel like leveling it up.
beating Sephiroth is so worth it.
I beat the game last night and gave up on trying to find all the synth items for the secret ending.
after watching the secret ending on youtube...
I reccommend everyone else who was stupid and chose the standard mode to do the same. running around for 30 blazing shards and all that crap isn't worth it.
and for those of you who have beaten it/seen the secret ending...
SECRET ENDING SPOILER (sort of)
what... the.... fuck?!?!
