Just beated this b!tch. If you want an idea about the game imagine playing the Bouncer with guns. Seems sort of Metal Gear like too cuzz you have to infiltrate a base solo. Then there's this secret that lets you know square will probably release another game revolving around the FF7 world.

9-10 one of the best games this year.

Well that runs contrary to every review I've read.

I thought the bouncer was alright (I'm one of the only ones) but from what I remember, you can't save (is that true?) and it is very very short (but you can play through it again as a different person). do you mean DOC is similar to this?

Hey, now. I enjoyed the Bouncer. Hell, I can still hear the announcer's voice ringing in my head: "Duragon C. MiKADO"

wtf? You can save in The Bouncer no problem. The game still sucked, but saving wasnt an issue

I just didn't remember thats why I wrote 'is that even true?' because I wasn't sure if that was coming from the part of my brain that makes up things or a real memory or what.

i enjoyed the game .. but i do see what the reviews are trying to say. its extremely exagrated tho.. The paceing is off.. if hey just made the game longer im sure everything else would have balanced out. id give it a 7.5-8.0

and the four player thing it had was good. better than the main story anyway.

I dont think Ill like this game, but ill still try it. Penny Arcade had a really good point today and Im gonna stop listening to reviews

It isn't something everybody doesn't already know; Game journalism is down the shithole with the exception of a minuscule minority of sites. Still, reviews do give some sort of semblance of what the game is like. Videogames, like all sorts of media, are like that, it is entirely subjective. I remember playing several games which were given bad reviews and absolutely loving them, heck, some games given initial bad reviews were later loved by the community and given better reviews when examined closer later on. Some other games just suck yet have something that cannot be explained in reviews that makes them rather enjoyable. You have to give some slack to the reviewers though. Alot of them are under heavy deadlines to churn out reviews as quickly as they can when a game is released and alot of them just suck as they are just plain gamers without any professional journalism training.

Im just finding a lot of reviews lately tell me more about the reviewer than about the game. Wether they liked it or not is a completely separate thing.

Plus, Ive got a job, trying games Im interested in aint exactly hard

I love DoC, I give it the 8.5/10, the only complaint that i have is that mr. valentine jumps around like a silly fuck in the cutscenes, but invisible walls block the path's over railings and buildings, so you can't jump around like you'd like to, but considering this is the first attempt from an RPG giant to make a shooter of this magnitude, I'll throw em a bone...

oh yeah, the guy who does the voice of colonel campbell in MGS (Paul Eiding) does the voice of hojo....HAHAHAAAA!!!!

"one of the best games" and "the bouncer" in the same sentence does not compute

Then it seems that your binary is faulty.
