here i am playing METROID ZERO MISSION and there's a little white fleck, about the size of a pixel

dead pixel?

NO

it's moving

if you look closer it's apparent that it has some kind of non-square form

any insight as to how it got in there and how i should get it out would be good

it's white

it's annoying

Well, I know when we got Terasa her own used GBA SP it had a couple white specks on the inside of the screen ... under the plastic that protects the screen actually... Looked like lint or something, possibly from them wiping down the screen before replacing the plastic sheet?

I'm not sure what to do, as I actually traded it back to the local retailer for another used one (the right shoulder button didn't work)...

If there's a used game retailer around you, maybe you could check to see if they replace the plastic cover and could clean it out for you?

That is assuming that it's lint or something... <_<

My appologies, I assumed that it was lint, being that it's attracted to static electricity, which is probably produced by a tiny screen in the same fashion as lint on a TV screen...

It was just my two cents...

Does the white ...things... move when the screen's turned off?

Rahul, can you take a photo of the screen somehow?

Okay, it's more than obvious Rahul....Your GBA has Lice...

I suggest one of the following methods to getting Lice out of your GBA:

1: Stick it in a jar of Mayonaise and leave it there for about 20 minutes, then take out the GBA and rinse it off.

OR

2: Go to your local Pharmacy and pick up some RID Lice killing spray and shampoo. Apply it to your GBA as directed.

Ohhh I see this is the second time I spell your name wrong, the first time was Rabul and this time its Radul, damn will now I have it right, now "Rahul".

Anyway, I would like to mention a incident about a set of cockroaches that got stuck in my mother's alarm clock, the reason I remember this is because it look exactly like the alarm clock from "Back to the Future" you see it a few times when Marty Mcfly wakes up in the middle of the night by Doc to meet him in front of the mall or at the end of the moive, when the alarm goes off, he thought this was just a dream and the song from Jerry..whatever the band is call, singing ....."where back in tiimmmee"

As I was saying the clock didn't work so my mom open it and found that there were like 8-12 cockroach stuck on the circuit like board on the clock. This happen when I was living in a apartment like house, in Chicago (now I live in the suburb) at that time we were having roach problems.

I guess during the cold winters roaches like to find a warm place to stay in, so they went to the alarm clock to still warm or something. My mother call the exterminateor and got rid of the roach problem.

Point being when Rahul mention about his GBA having a little white fleck moving, for some reason it reminded of me of the roach problem. I doubt a roach is stuck on his GBA though.

Here's my solution:

Step One: Put GBA over open flame

Step Two: Hold the GBA over it until any organic material inside is thoroughly cooked to death.

Steo Three: Bring GBA to repair shop

I think he's looking for a less costly solution to his problem, and somehow I think repairing a flaming GBA is going to cost more than a new GBA.... my REAL solution? Say nothing about the white flecks, take it to a game store of your choice and trade it in for credit towards a Nintendo DS. Since it plays GBA games anyway, and you shouldn't pay ridiculous repair prices I'd say it's a good idea.

Dude, Rahul can't sell his GBA SP!

I do not want a Nintendo DS (yet). I have a GBA so I can use my Gamecube connectivity games, primarily. When DS brings some killer apps, then I'll get a DS.

Feel the Magic and Warioware are the best so far. I really wish us DS owners would actually get some good full games instead of collections of minigames.
staff
pixel
Well, even those are going to get some really impressive additions to the library soon (Nintendogs, Electroplankton), and not to mention the likes of Meteos. Except not yet. And not in Europe, yet. Therefore, me and DS are not making with the smoochies yet.

Only things I'm eagerly awaiting are Meteos, Animal Crossing DS, FF3, and Super Mario DS.

I'm going to wait on the DS until the price drops and they release FF3 and Crystal Chronicles...In the meantime, I'm gettin a PSP

jeeze, animal crossing for the DS, i could not STAND the one on gamecube, it drove me nuts, isnt it basically just a gay looking version of the sims?
vip
pixel
nope, you WERE the main character, plus you interacted with the residents of your little town. What do you do in the Sims? Watch for the little pictures?

I liked Animal Crossing... Played it for about a year before finally trading it in. I can't wait to see what kind of stuff they do for the game once it goes multiplayer... (which would rock, get a little town togeather of friends AND the NPC's all at the same time)...

Mind you, i have no idea what the game will have for features, but I like this multiplayer idea...
vip
pixel
i'd like to see a multiplayer game where you build your own little town, and then anyone in the vicinity of you can connect wirelessly and sabotage your town....and then you'd get together with like 6 friends and try to destroy each other's towns, then form alliances and start wars and shit wirelessly, trying to defend your friend's towns while attacking your enemies.........might be too violent for the Ds though......

Any other multiplayer game ideas you'd like to see ?

Warcraft DS.

So, whatever came from this Rahul? Is the white thing dead yet? what was it? etc etc....

It mysteriously vanished and I have not seen it since. By now it has likely burrowed into the depths of my skull and is nibbling away at my cerebellum. I shall join you in the cave of insanity soon, Steve!

Sooooooooooon. *drool*

I wonder what Nintendo would have said on customer support if you had of rang and described this odd white thing.

Nintendo Service Rep: "Oh bugger, we got another one who spunked in his game boy!"

there's this one game for the DS that is deffently worth checking out is trance memory (another code in japan) it's not out yet but it intreages the hell out of me, reminds me of thouse zork games or mist maybe, and the new mario bros. and of course (hurayy!!) mario and luigi saga 2. so the near future is looking bright for the DS for me.

and i wish you best of luck on that parasite pixie gameboy SP lice devoring your mind Rahul
