i didn't find it funny at all... just scary that people actually live like that... it was like how i felt about garden state... where's the damn story?

well, the story is that there IS no story. Its just an account of peoples lives and how it manages to be interesting because some development happens

yeah what is that a trend in movies lately or something?? it was the same in 'closer' as well, great actors/actresses bad movie. I dont know, it doesnt do anything for me, I like a story that someone had to really think of and take the time to create you know? ah well.

Garden State was plenty of story: the point is that a guy doped up on drugs his whole life could only really begin living it once he stopped taking them. His eyes "opened" (so to speak) because of the new perspective his waking mind had on the world. Other than that it's just a seedy romantic cheesetale with decent acting and a couple of interesting scenes. But you can't go around saying there's no definition in the scenario.

There is character development but no point to the story, so he thinks he loves a girl because he feels for the first time in 9 years... of course he thinks that he never felt anything before, and I personaly found her character really annoying. True, there was more story in Garden State than in Napolean Dynomite (or whatever the sp) but it still wasn't a real story to me, just a kid who comes home and like does some stuff :unsure:

There's a lot more to Napoleon Dynamite than "he just goes home and does stuff." The movie has three stories going on a once.

- Napoleon's relationship with Pedro and Deb, along with their everday highschool lives.
- Grandmother Dynamite, Uncle Rico his get rich quick schemes, along with his relationship towards Kip and Napoleon.
- Kip and (haha) Lafawnduh.

All three intertwine one way or another throughout the movie. I personally thought the movie was great, but to each their own.

I was talking about Garden State, and it was kind of an exaggeration... his life back home in Jersey... which like in real life Jersey... nothing interesting happens
