So, as of yesterday, October 7th, I am an employee of Best Buy...
I will be working the Late Shift (10pm-7am) stocking the store...
It's considered seasonal employment, but there is a VERY good chance for me to stick around when the holidays are done...
So, all in all, happy happy, joy joy!!!
Here's to the paycheck, the benefits, and the MUTHAFUCKIN' EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT!!!! |

awesome! good luck
when you say your stocking the store you mean you are there after hours, no customers etc?? thats gonna be a great/fun/not so hard job so thats awesome |

far better than schoolbusing I say!

I definately hope so, The only 'hard' part of the whole thing is that they close AND lock up the store for our shift.... No getting outside for food/smokes...
Good thing I'm not much of a smoker anymore!!! As for the late night, no customers, and stocking of the shelves... As long as my co-workers aren't rim-jobbing assholes, it should be fun.
But, we'll find out once they call me back up and tell me when the orientation meetings are (I've signed the papers, done the drug screen, and they should get the results back Mon. or Tues.) and they'll call me in for everything..)
More to come once I know more... |

I called them up today to find out when I start... Orientation begins 8am Saturday!
Finally, back to work... *yeah!* |

OK, tomorrow's the big day... Back to work, after a month and a half of looking... It's about damned time! I'm nervous as all hell, and doubt I'll sleep well tonight. In fact, I think I'm going to take this opportunity to prep everything for tomorrow morning (clothes laid out, pen, notebook, etc... (in case I need it) and make sure to doubly-check the alarm clock so it goes off well ahead of time for me to get ready for the morning..)
Wish me luck... Later all.... |

Meth, Meth, he's our man, if he can't do it, no one can! Go Meth! |

So, Saturday and Sunday were orientaion days, Today was my first 'real' day of work.... More or less, I was GOING to be doing the online learning programs, but was unable to log into my account (should be remedied tonight or tomorrow)...
Fun enough for the first day, we'll see how the rest of the days go...

The first day is almost always fun or interesting.
Wait until you settle into the grind before you pass judgement. |

fun until the MAN sucks out your soul... |

Actually, the last week was pretty cool, people are great, job's not been THAT difficult... Only thing I'm having issues remembering (and haven't done much with) the computer programs used for the Product Processing...
But, the job's good, people are fun, and my only complaint is the lack of hours I'll have coming up the next few weeks (scheduled 3 days next week- only 23 hours next week)... until the 'holiday rush' starts up towards thanksgiving...
I've talked to my supervisor about getting some additional hours if I'm needed and she'd said she'd keep me in mind, so... we'll see what happens...
But, job is good... I have even got my first paycheck already! It was a whopping $24 for my first day of training!!!!! (My first day of training was incidentally the last day of payroll)... |
vip |
My first day of training was free booze and food!
had to make it myself, but zat's ok... Filet mignon and shrimp prima vera, with alfredo sass... yum... |
