Touted as "The Bodily Sensation RPG," Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors (ドラゴンクエストソード 仮面の女王と鏡の塔) for the Nintendo Wii allows players to destroy adorable slime monsters by swinging the Wiimote like a sword. As for the story part of the localization, Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors is full of the same type of European voices (and grammar) used in Dragon Quest VIII, ensuring that things feel as medieval as possible within the confines of a mostly-whimsical Japanese RPG. Without much new in regards to the game itself, our initial impressions remain the same: it's a decently fun, arcadey take on a classic RPG series.
North Americans land a date with 'The Masked Queen'
Square Enix announced today that Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors will ship to North American retailers on February 26, 2008. This version will feature exclusive new challenges not present in the original Japanese release, including a "Payback Mode" and four secret bosses.
