Front Mission Walkthrough By Fletcher Arnett (Thestillmist@yahoo.com) Contents: 1- Introduction 2- Walkthrough 3- Codes 4- Credits/Copyrights 5- Thanks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------------------ 1- Introduction ------------------------------------------ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Note: I did no research for this part of this guide) Front Mission was created for the Japanese Super Famicom, known as the Super Nintendo in America and Europe, by Square. It's a great game. Sadly, it was never released outside of Japan. However, thanks to a group of translators, the game is playable in English in ROM form today. You can get the translation at http://go.to/fmission, and the ROM can be found at www.edgeemu.com. Be warned, nobody even attempted to censor it. However, all I've found was language, so unless that offends you, have fun. Another warning to those shocked by foul language: In this guide, there is cursing in some mission and city descriptions. However, the only real threat you have in using my guide is crappy humor (half of the readers have just dropped dead after THAT line), so beware. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------------------ 2- Walkthrough ------------------------------------------ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This walkthrough assumed you're using the translated ROM or can read Japanese. The names are from the tranlated ROM. The format for the guide is as follows ------------------------------------ Name/# of Place/Mission Type & HP of enemies. (missions only) New Pilots: name, name ------------------------------------ If at any point I use the name "Lloyd", I'm referring to the main character. The mission names are my own, if they're the actual names (if they have any), I'm as surprised as you. With that said, let's get down to business. ------------------------------------- Mission 0 - Prologue ------------------------------------- Just blow up the beige units. Karen dies anyway. ------------------------------------- City- Barinden ------------------------------------- You'll be approached by General Olson, hiring for the mercenary unit Carrion Crow. Win or lose, you're hired. The code above is for infinite cash. Use it to get some serious upgrades. Otherwise, you'll be in the Colosseum for a good chunk of the game trying to upgrade. Talk with people, upgrade your Wanzer, and head to the Military Office. ------------------------------------- Mission 1- Outside Barinden Enemies: 5 L1 Attackers in CALM Wanzers Body-24 Legs-21 Arms-19 each 1 L1 Commander in ZOLA Wanzer Body-30 Legs-24 Arms-22 each 2 L1 Missilers in GUST Wanzers Body-21 Legs-18 Arms-19 each New Pilots: Keith, JJ, Sakata, Natalie ------------------------------------- NOTES: This is your first real mission, so here's some help. Move into firing range, and the word "attack" will appear on your after-move menu. Select it, choose an enemy in range, and then a weapon. The game will show you that weapon's range with the enemy selected. Hit A once again, and you'll fight. STRATEGY: Blow s#&@ up. Later on, you'll see actual strategy, but not yet. -------------------------------------- City- New Milgan New Pilots: none -------------------------------------- Upgrade everyone. Your next mission involves some L2 units, so firepower doesn't hurt. Hit the Military Office and leave town. -------------------------------------- Mission 2- Outside New Milgan Enemies: 3 L1 Missilers in ZOLA Wanzers Body-30 Legs-27 Arms-25 each 1 L2 Attacker in PAVOT Wanzer Body-36 Legs-27 Arms-22 each 1 L2 Commander in ZENITH Wanzer Body-33 Legs-26 Arms-24 each 4 L2 Attackers in CALM Wanzers Body-24 Legs-32 Arms-19 each New Pilots: Frederick -------------------------------------- NOTES: The PAVOT Attacker will gain a lethal rocket launcher after 2 turns, so kill him quickly. Frederick can die and you'll still get him to join. After killing the PAVOT pilot, you should get an Egret rocket launcher. Equip it quickly, it kicks ass. STRATEGY: Once again, nuke `em. -------------------------------------- City- New Milgan (again) New Pilots: none -------------------------------------- Upgrade Frederick's Wanzer and head to the Military Office. Leave town. -------------------------------------- Mission 3- Outside New Milgan (again) Enemies: 5 L3 Attackers in ZENITH Wanzers Body-33 Legs-26 Arms-24 each 4 L2 Missilers in ZOLA Wanzers Body-30 Legs-26 Arms-24 each 1 L3 Commander in GALVO Wanzer Body-42 Legs-32 Arms-25 each New Pilots: none -------------------------------------- NOTES: Again, the NPC's (supply trucks) are expendable, Peewee excluded, but try and keep them intact. STRATEGY: Finally, actual strategy. Send 2 Wanzers towards the group on the right of the battlefield, and have the rest scatter in the direction of the other enemies. This should keep you safe along with the trucks. --------------------------------------- City- Menasa New Pilots: Yang --------------------------------------- Head to the Military Office. You get a day off! Woo-hoo! Head to the Colosseum and prepare to fight Yang. Say yes to her challenge, and then upgrade Lloyd's Wanzer. Return to the Colosseum and fight Yang. Beat her, upgrade everyone else and finish any other tasks you might have, then head to your next mission. --------------------------------------- Mission 4- A New Cause Enemies: 6 L4 Attackers in GALVO Wanzers Body-42 Legs-32 Arms-25 each 3 L4 Missilers in HUSKY MK. III Wanzers Body-39 Legs-30 Arms-24 each 3 L5 Commanders in GIZEH Wanzers Body-45 Legs-34 Arms-26 each Special: 1 L40 Driscoll (unkillable boss) in TYPE11DS mech Body-250 Legs-250 Arms-120 each New Pilots: none --------------------------------------- NOTES: For the first time, you'll see two things happen. You'll face a non-Wanzer enemy in this mission, and also your first boss mech. They are one and the same, this unbeatable mech, piloted by Driscoll, the same ass who attacked you in the opening mission. At level 40, don't even attempt to fight him. He'll only fight if you attack him first. A large tip: STAY AWAY FROM HIM! STRATEGY: First of all, DON'T ATTACK DRISCOLL!!! He will kill you instantly, EXP code or not. Otherwise, this mission is another kill everything. Make sure to keep Paul (the NPC Wanzer) alive. Have 2-3 Wanzers head around the building you start by and attack the squad there. Everyone else should attack whoever they encounter save Driscoll. Not too hard yet. --------------------------------------- City- Grey Rock New Pilots: Paul (if he lived), Peewee (not a pilot, but what the hell) --------------------------------------- First off, head to the Bar. If Paul lived, he'll ask to join your group. Let him in, and head to the Office. You'll see a new item appear, Seeker Hans. Go in, watch the scene, and upgrade. The reason that I suggest upgrading after the scene with Hans is the fact that you can't buy Yang equipment until you finish that scene. Head to the Office again, and get a new mission. Peewee (the supply truck driver from mission 3), will be driving a supply truck for you in every mission from now on. You can grab items, and equip yourself at the truck. It also has a weak minigun on it, so it's not totally helpless. ---------------------------------------- Mission 5- Outside Grey Rock Enemies: 2 L6 Commanders in HUSKY MK. IV Wanzers Body-51 Legs-39 Arms-39 each 3 L5 Missilers in SAM Launchers Body-100 6 L5 Attackers in GALVO SV Wanzers Body-48 Legs-36 Arms-36 each 3 L5 Missilers in ZIGLE 6B Wanzers Body-42 Legs-30 Arms-30 each New Pilots: none ---------------------------------------- NOTES: The missile launchers are stationary, easy to kill, and have only one life bar. STRATEGY: Kill them all. Again. It gets better soon. I promise. ----------------------------------------- Mission 6- Hell's Wall Enemies: 6 L6 Missilers in GALVO SV Wanzers Body-48 Legs-36 Arms-36 each Special: 1 L12 Grieg in FROST Wanzer Body-108 Legs-72 Arms-60 each 1 L7 Reebath in FROST Wanzer Body-108 Legs-72 Arms-60 each 1 L7 Dave in FROST Wanzer Body-108 Legs-72 Arms-60 each 1 L6 Josie in FROST Wanzer Body-108 Legs-72 Arms-60 each 1 L5 Ghetta in FROST Wanzer Body-108 Legs-72 Arms-60 each 1 L5 Milligan in FROST Wanzer Body-108 Legs-72 Arms-60 each New Pilots: none ----------------------------------------- NOTES: You can go back to town before the mission starts. Hit left and save in town if needed. STRATEGY: Meet Mobile Squadron 64, AKA Hell's Wall. You won't see most of them again, so make the most of your time together. Their levels range from 5-12, making this a hellish mission. Also, you have 6 missilers to kill. The best trick is to move all your men into position around their starting point. Let the enemies come to you. As they get closer, you'll be able to hit them with multiple men and watch them die. EMULATOR TRICK: When fighting with the above strategy, use this trick. Save to a state every time you have an enemy targeted (when the ground is red in all places a weapon can hit), and load each time the weapon doesn't hit the part wanted. This takes longer, but seriously helps with low hit % weapons like bazookas and grenade launchers. ----------------------------------------- Mission 7- Freedom City Enemies: 3 L7 Attackers in GALVO SV Wanzers Body-48 Legs-39 Arms-39 each 5 L7 Missilers in ZIGLE 6B Wanzers Body-42 Legs-30 Arms-30 each 2 L7 Carriers in Natural trucks Body-200 4 L7 Attackers in PAVOT II Wanzers Body-54 Legs-42 Arms-39 each 1 L8 Commander in CLAVECIH Wanzer Body-60 Legs-48 Arms-48 each Special: 1 L8 Commander in CLINTON TYPE mech (crab thing) Body-310 New Pilots: Hans ----------------------------------------- NOTES: Again, hit left and go to town if you need to save/upgrade. STRATEGY: Leave two people at the right end of the bridge to clean up Wanzers back there. Have everyone else charge for the squad in the topmost corner of the map. Proceed to kill. After the mission, Hans joins. ----------------------------------------- City- Freedom City New Pilots: Gregorio ----------------------------------------- Upgrade Lloyd and then hit the Colosseum. Watch the scene, then fight Kong. Win, and you have a new member. As always, head to the Office for a new mission. Finish anything else, and then head out. ------------------------------------------ Mission 8- Town of ??? (i forgot to write it down, please mail me) Enemies: 5 L8 Attackers in GENEM Wanzers Body-66 Legs-42 Arms-48 each 2 L8 Carriers in Natural trucks Body-200 4 L9 Missilers in GROP Wanzers Body-54 Legs-48 Arms-54 each 1 L9 Commander in MOTH Wanzer Body-66 Legs-60 Arms-54 each New Pilots: Maury ------------------------------------------ NOTES: You will see actual plot in the ending of this mission. Keep Maury (the civilian) alive at all costs. The more units you have, the more ass you kick per turn. STRATEGY: Surround Maury and slowly move outward. Kill anything that moves (again). EMULATOR TRICK: As always, eneny Wanzers will attack the NPC first when she's in range. You can reverse the trick used in Mission 6 to protect her. When they attack, save as the screen fades to black. If the enemy misses, save afterwards. If a non-vital part is hit, load and try again. If the same part is hit, just save. Anytime the Body is hit, load. ------------------------------------------ City- Freedom City (again) New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ Watch the scene, then upgrade Maury's Wanzer. Now go save Keith and J.J. ------------------------------------------ Mission 9- False Lead Enemies: 5 L10 Attackers in GROP Wanzers Body-54 Legs-42 Arms-42 each 3 L11 Commanders in MOTH Wanzers Body-66 Legs-60 Arms-54 each 4 L10 Missilers in GENEM Wanzers Body-66 Legs-54 Arms-54 each 3 L11 Carriers in Natural trucks Body-200 New Pilots: Maury (again) ------------------------------------------ NOTES: Maury is an NPC for this mission. However, she can still be killed and lost. This is bad. STRATEGY: Rush in, blast things, run back. Repeat, with variation when necessary. You may want a Wanzer or two to cover Maury's ass. But, that's optional the way I choose to play the mission. ;) Actually, if you upgraded her enough, she won't need backup. Just kill anyone attacking her at the end of the mission. ------------------------------------------ City- Freedom City (yet again) New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ At this point, you shouldn't need upgrading. Get your mission, save, and go. ------------------------------------------ Mission 10- River Crossing Enemies: 5 L11 Missilers in BIZANT Wanzers Body-72 Legs-60 Arms-54 each 1 L11 Missiler in BIZANT Wanzer Body-72 Legs-60 Arms-42 each 2 L15 Commanders in VASA Wanzers Body-120 Legs-96 Arms-84 each 4 L11 Attackers in AVENIR Wanzers Body-84 Legs-66 Arms-48 each 1 L11 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 Special: 2 L12 Commanders in GROSTER mechs Body-120 Legs-100 Arms-70 each New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: The river will slow you down. Make sure anyone crossing by way of the river has a shield. For some reason, one missiler is different from the rest. It has the same equipment, as far as I know, but for some reason, has less HP for each arm. Maybe it's just my copy of the ROM. STRATEGY: Lead a small amount of men through the river. Make sure they all have missiles and shields. Everyone else should cross by the bridge. Nuke everything that moves and isn't controlled by you. Most important, have a nice day. (I'm sorry, I have to make these strategies look different somehow.) ------------------------------------------ City- Peseta New Pilots: Porunga, Bobby (break up their fight) ------------------------------------------ Upgrade, head to the Office, and watch the fight. Choose to break it up, and you'll get two new members. Upgrade everyone. Save and head into a fun little mission. ------------------------------------------ Mission 11- The Great Train Robbery Enemies: 1 L15 Commander in VASA Wanzer Body-120 Legs-96 Arms-84 each 3 L12 Missilers in ZEAREID Wanzers Body-84 Legs-60 Arms-48 each 3 L13 Attackers in BONART Wanzers Body-108 Legs-84 Arms-72 each 3 L13 Attackers in CROF Wanzers Body-96 Legs-72 Arms-72 each New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: This is really fun. A small group of enemies, and a large train for cover if needed. STRATEGY: Kill everyone. Do it quickly, and there should be 1-2 units on the other side of the train. Leave them alone, and walk to the square next to each open train panel. You can get extra stuff by doing this. Now kill the leftovers. ------------------------------------------ City- Beltchka New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ Learn about another member's past when you get here. Upgrade next, and then head out. ------------------------------------------ Mission 12- Welcome to Dune Enemies: 3 L13 Missilers in HUSKY Wanzers Body-108 Legs-90 Arms-72 each 3 L14 Attackers in SAND VAPOR Wanzers Body-108 Legs-90 Arms-72 each 3 L15 Commanders in HUSKY Wanzers Body-108 Legs-90 Arms-72 each New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: A small mission. Pretty easy, if you ask me, but what do I know... STRATEGY: Really, do you need my help here? As J.J. puts it when you win, "That was a total waste of time." This is the quickest mission you'll get for some time. Just blast em. ------------------------------------------ City (sort of)-OCU Frontline Base New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ Get your orders, upgrade (boy, THAT'S becoming a chore), and leave. ------------------------------------------ Mission 13- Little Brother Enemies: 4 L15 Attackers in GROP SP-V Wanzers Body-120 Legs-102 Arms-84 each 3 L14 Missilers in CICADAII Wanzers Body-144 Legs-114 Arms-96 each 2 L14 Carriers in Natural trucks Body-200 3 L15 Attackers in ORCSII Wanzers Body-96 Legs-78 Arms-60 each 1 L14 Commander in S-ORCS Wanzer Body-132 Legs-96 Arms-90 each New Pilots: ------------------------------------------ NOTES: Yeehin is vital to the plot, so I don't think he can die, even if his Wanzer blows up. Yang is an NPC in this mission for 3-4 turns. STRATEGY: Protect Yang and Yeehin (the mystery Wanzer) with some extra units, and charge into the fray. Not that bad. ------------------------------------------ City- OCU Frontline Base New Pilots: Yeehin ------------------------------------------ No new parts, so get a mission and upgrade Yeehin. Head to Fort Monus, this time for real. ------------------------------------------ Mission 14- Land Destroyer Enemies: 3 L16 Attackers in PRISOMER Wanzers Body-132 Legs-108 Arms-84 each 3 L16 Missilers in TYPE65 Wanzers Body-132 Legs-114 Arms-78 each 2 L10 Attackers in GROP Wanzers Body-54 Legs-42 Arms-42 each Special: 1 L20 Kirkland in ZINC Wanzer Body- Legs- Arms- each 4 L16 Attackers in DEFENSE MG turrets Body-150 3 L18 Commanders in LONG FORCE cannons Body-250 3 L16 Attackers in TYPE90 Wanzers Body-168 Legs-114 Arms-120 each New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: This is the second hardest mission in the game. There's one hell of a lot of one-mission-only enemies here. Unfortunately, they're the hellish, pull your hair out and curse kind. 3 experimental Wanzers, a boss Wanzer, 4 mini-turrets, and 3 cannons. Have fun. STRATEGY: If you didn't save after the last mission, you'll probably be kicking yourself a lot. The information in the translation "Get close to the cannons, they can't hit you," is bullshit. They can and will. They pack a punch, as do the turrets, to a smaller extent. You probably won't curse after a turret hits you. First order: Decide whether to split up or not. If you move everyone in a group, you'll have more firepower & health. If you split up, you'll do more damage over a wider range. Next, destroy everything in your path. Do it in this order: LONG FORCE cannons, TYPE90 Wanzers, DEFENSE MG turrets, Kirkland, and then any survivors. After Kirkland and the cannons have been destroyed, the mission ends (I think, I always kill Kirkland last). ------------------------------------------ Mission 15- Under Siege Enemies: 3 L16 Missilers in TYPE65 Wanzers Body-132 Legs-114 Arms-78 each 3 L17 Attackers in PRISOMEA Wanzers Body-132 Legs-108 Arms-84 each 7 L16 Missilers in ARPEGGIO Wanzers Body-144 Legs-108 Arms-102 each 2 L16 Carriers in Natural trucks Body-200 Special: 1 L12 Greig in SEAKING mech (big-ass ugly thing) Body-580 New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: You MUST save after that mission. Hit left and go to the Frontline Base. Save, and come here. STRATEGY: Hey, that guy from mission 6 is back! Somehow Grieg lived, and he wants revenge. The good news: he hasn't gained a level since you last fought. Bad news: he's piloting another experimental mech. Nuke everything else, and take him last, unless he hits first. Then, drop everything and KILL! If possible, surround him and then repeat the last step (ie, kill). ------------------------------------------ City- Fort Monus New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ Get a mission, then upgrade. That's it. ------------------------------------------ Mission 16- Welcoming Commitee Enemies: 1 L17 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 5 L17 Missilers in RATMOUNT Wanzers Body-168 Legs-156 Arms-102 each 3 L17 Attackers in ZINC Wanzers Body-162 Legs-144 Arms-108 each 3 L17 Attackers in ORGEL Wanzers Body-150 Legs-120 Arms-108 each Special: 1 L17 Gentz in Richter Wanzer Body-150 Legs-132 Arms-108 each New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: If the helicopter blows up, you're screwed. STRATEGY: Protect the chairman while covering your rear. That's really all there is to it. After 3-4 turns, the helicopter reaches the landing pad, pretty much rendering it safe. Have one Wanzer protect it. ------------------------------------------ City- Fort Monus (again) New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ Get mission. Save. Leave. ------------------------------------------ Mission 17- Ceasefire Enemies: 2 L18 Attackers in ALGEM Wanzers Body-120 Legs-102 Arms-84 each 4 L18 Attackers in TYPE67C Wanzers Body-168 Legs-132 Arms-93 each 6 L18 Missilers in RATMOUNT Wanzers Body-168 Legs-156 Arms-102 each 1 L20 Commander in PROZION Wanzer Body-120 Legs-116 Arms-102 each 1 L18 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: One unit, if you use the little bar under their info, seems to have a different # of HP from the others. (in this case, the TYPE67C Wanzers) It doesn't. STRATEGY: I can't really say anything about this mission. Kill em all. You should be good at that by now. If you're slow, the mission is interrupted after 3 turns. Even though you're told to fall back, keep killing. ------------------------------------------ City- Fort Monus (yet again) New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ Good news: no more war. Bad news: no new supplies, you're still fighting, get new mission and leave. ------------------------------------------ Mission 18- Frontline Infirmary Enemies: 3 L17 Missilers in ORGEL Wanzers Body-150 Legs-156 Arms-78 each 1 L21 Commander in RATMOUNT Wanzer Body-168 Legs-120 Arms-108 each 3 L19 Attackers in ZEROA Wanzers Body-156 Legs-120 Arms-96 each 3 L19 Attackers in PROZION Wanzers Body-120 Legs-116 Arms-108 each New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: The symbol on the map is of a battle, but you get a chance to save and refit your Wanzers before battle. In the cinema after the mission, part of the text is in Japanese, with or without the translation. If anyone knows what Dr. Brown says, mail me, and I'll put your name next to the translation in the guide. STRATEGY: Blow them up. Soon you'll go back to the more complex missions. ------------------------------------------ City- Fort Monus (still) New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ Head to the Military Office. Leave. Soon you'll be somewhere new. I promise. ------------------------------------------ Mission 19- Protection Enemies: 1 L21 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 6 L21 Attackers in ORGEL Wanzers Body-150 Legs-120 Arms-126 each 5 L20 Missilers in ZEROA Wanzers Body-156 Legs-120 Arms-72 each Special: 1 L17 Gentz in Richter Wanzer Body-150 Legs-132 Arms-108 each New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: Don't waste men to help Driscoll. He never joins you, so don't worry about saving him. At level 40, he can do that himself. STRATEGY: Waste them. Or, stay back, let Driscoll kill a large crowd, then finish anything else if they ever do kill him. However, you will still have to fight with this method, and will get less EXP and cash. ------------------------------------------ City- Fort Monus (again, damnit!) New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ Just leave before your head explodes or some other bad thing happens. Nothing changed. Same formula as the last 4 times, get mission, then go. ------------------------------------------ Mission 20- More Friggin' Terrorists (sorry, you try making this mission interesting) Enemies: 2 L21 Carriers in Natural trucks Body-200 6 L21 Missilers in RATMOUNT Wanzers Body-168 Legs-120 Arms-108 each 7 L23 Attackers in ORGEL Wanzers Body-150 Legs-144 Arms-108 each New Pilots: ------------------------------------------ NOTES: As you may have guessed, you don't have Frederick for this mission and the next. STRATEGY: I'm getting so sick of these damn missions. Kill. Again. At this point, you may want either a new kind of mission or the blood of a Square programmer. You'll get one of these soon, I swear. ------------------------------------------ City- Soleit New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ New town! Yipeee! Buy new parts, do anything else you want to, and get your mission. After that, head for the enemy base. ------------------------------------------ Mission 21- Cleanup Enemies: 7 L22 Missilers in FAGOT Wanzers Body-174 Legs-180 Arms-96 each 6 L23 Attackers in ORGEL Wanzers Body-150 Legs-132 Arms-108 each 1 L23 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 Special: 1 L23 Attacker in ALGEM mech Body-300 Legs-200 Arms-140 each 1 L17 Gentz in Richter Wanzer Body-150 Legs-132 Arms-106 each 1 L?? Frederick in Witness Wanzer Body-?? Legs-?? Arms-?? each New Pilots: Frederick ------------------------------------------ NOTES: Frederick is an NPC who won't fight on this mission. His stats are the same as when you last equipped him. Don't kill him. There is a very large mech helping the enemy. STRATEGY: Send 1-2 Wanzers to attack the men on the right, outside the fence. A good trick is to surround the main opening in the gate and let the enemies walk into your trap. Missiles help this strategy, as do grenades (with Duel or Guide skills). ------------------------------------------ City- Soleit New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ Talk to Olson, then pray that he wasn't serious (although at this point, you could probably destroy anything they throw at you). Lose some pilots, and head out. ------------------------------------------ Mission 22- Truth and Consequences Enemies: 3 L23 Attackers in TYPE67C Wanzers Body-168 Legs-132 Arms-102 each 5 L23 Attackers in TYPE67C Wanzers Body-168 Legs-132 Arms-114 each 1 L23 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 3 L23 Missilers in PERZEA Wanzers Body-156 Legs-132 Arms-96 each Special: 1 L40 Driscoll in TYPE11DS mech Body-250 Legs-250 Arms-180 each New Pilots: Gentz ------------------------------------------ NOTES: Driscoll = bad. Kill him last, because yes, he can be killed this time. There are two types of TYPE67C Wanzers here, not just one different unit. A small squadron of them has less HP than the others. Gentz will be under your control here. STRATEGY: Everyone's favorite evil bastard returns (again)! Driscoll has an even bigger mech, and this time, you WILL have to kill him. Along with his giant mech, you have a smaller squad and other enemies (although he'd still be a bitch alone). First, kill everything else, since he runs off. Then, regroup and attack all at once. Another strategy is to rush and kill Driscoll, since that ends the mission. ------------------------------------------ Mission 23- Deja Vu Enemies: 6 L24 Attackers in FAGOT Wanzers Body-174 Legs-114 Arms-138 each 3 L23 Missilers in BRIZIAII Wanzers Body-204 Legs-180 Arms-144 each 4 L24 Attackers in PERZEA Wanzers Body-156 Legs-132 Arms-138 each 1 L24 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 Special: 1 L40 Driscoll in TYPE11DS mech Body-250 Legs-250 Arms-120 each New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ NOTES: You get to kill Driscoll again. He's weaker now by about 100 HP. When this mission ends, you get the best Computer in the game. For fun, give it to Lloyd (it makes sense, you know). STRATEGY: Kill Driscoll quickly, for no other reason than revenge. Then, do as you please to the other Wanzers. However many people you have left after Driscoll should help determine who goes where. Not that bad after the last mission. ------------------------------------------ City-Weapon Dealer's Camp New Pilots: none ------------------------------------------ I'm counting the mission and city part of this place as two different things. Upgrade. Save. Equip the new Computer you got after the last mission. ------------------------------------------ Mission 24- Ambushed Enemies: 4 L25 Attackers in BRIZIAII Wanzers Body-204 Legs-180 Arms-138 each 6 L25 Missilers in BRIZIAII Wanzers Body-204 Legs-180 Arms-144 each 2 L25 Attackers in PERZEA Wanzers Body-156 Legs-132 Arms-144 each 1 L25 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 Special: 1 L38 Olson in ELDOS Wanzer Body-228 Legs-204 Arms-156 each 2 L27 Commanders in BANYAN mechs Body-450 New Pilots: Natalie, Keith, J.J. ------------------------------------------ NOTES: For a few turns, Natalie and crew are enemies. Don't kill them. After 1-2 turns, you control them again, with their old equipment. STRATEGY: Hold back and attack the Wanzers next to you for a few turns. After you get control of your other 3 Wanzers, move them to the left of the rocks near your starting point. Now that you've eliminated some enemies, charge in for Olson. Next, have the 3 Wanzers attack anyone near the rocks, while your other squad cleans up. ------------------------------------------ Mission 25- Warehouse District Enemies: 2 L26 Missilers in PEGASE Wanzers Body-228 Legs-204 Arms-156 each 2 L27 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 3 L27 Attackers in TYPE150 Wanzers Body-192 Legs-156 Arms-120 each 3 L26 Missilers in TYPE 103 Wanzers Body-192 Legs-144 Arms-108 each Special: 1 L28 Commander in HUSKY mech Body-800 ------------------------------------------ NOTES: I'm not putting the "New Pilots" listing in anymore because there are no more new pilots that I know of. STRATEGY: Sneak along the buildings and try to hit any enemies from around corners. Gang up on the commander. Blow things up. ------------------------------------------ City- Rupidis ------------------------------------------ Upgrade. While in the shop, talk to the owner. Also, talk to everyone in the bar. This'll open your next mission. Then choose "Harborware" to start the mission. ------------------------------------------ Mission 26- Escape Enemies: 3 L27 Missilers in PEGASE Wanzers Body-228 Legs-204 Arms-156 each 2 L28 Attackers in TYPE150 Wanzers Body-192 Legs-156 Arms-120 each 3 L29 Commanders in BRIZIAII Wanzers Body-204 Legs-180 Arms-144 each 3 L28 Attackers in TNPAH Wanzers Body-204 Legs-156 Arms-144 each 1 L25 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 Special: 1 L29 Commander in Armored Car Body-200 1 L37 Blakewood in Armored Car Body-200 1 L38 Olson in ELDOS Wanzer Body-228 Legs-204 Arms-156 each ------------------------------------------ NOTES: This mission ends is pretty easy. I am aware that TNPAH in not the correct name for that type of Wanzer, however, my computer cannot make Greek letters. If you know of a font that can, mail me. The address is thestillmist@yahoo.com. STRATEGY: There is no way to screw this up. Fight your way out. The one thing to remember is DON'T KILL BLAKEWOOD! He'll nuke the Armored Car next to him about halfway through your first turn. After that, kill everyone but Blakewood. ------------------------------------------ City- Rupidis ------------------------------------------ Upgrade anyone that you haven't. Head to "Dock of No.16" (huh?) for your mission. ------------------------------------------ Mission 27- Sibling Rivalry Enemies: 4 L29 Attackers in PEGASE Wanzers Body-228 Legs-228 Arms-193 each 2 L28 Carriers in Natural trucks Body-200 1 L30 Commander in VALIANT Wanzer Body-384 Legs-204 Arms-156 each 2 L29 Missilers in VALS Wanzers Body-240 Legs-228 Arms-180 each 4 L29 Attackers in TYPE105 Wanzers Body-216 Legs-192 Arms-144 each Special: 1 L28 Carrier in ALGEM mech Body-300 Legs-200 Arms-140 each ------------------------------------------ NOTES: Sakata will go after everyone else on this mission. I only mention that fact because I needed to fill space. STRATEGY: First order: move everyone towards Sakata at the middle of the map. Next, choose who you want to attack where. I recommend your strongest against the ALGEM group, the next strongest attack the Attackers below you, and everyone else attacks the Commander and crew. ------------------------------------------ City- Rupidis (last time) ------------------------------------------ This is the LAST CITY! After this, you're on your own parts-wise, so upgrade EVERYONE. Cheat, use the Colosseum, it doesn't matter to me, just do it. Save one final time, and let's go to the option marked "Airfield" (you just can't get a conventional mission in this place). ------------------------------------------ Mission 28- Breakaway Enemies: 5 L30 Missilers in ELDOS Wanzers Body-228 Legs-204 Arms-156 each 1 L31 Commander in VALIANT Wanzer Body-324 Legs-240 Arms-211 each 4 L31 Attackers in ARPEGGIO Wanzers Body-144 Legs-204 Arms-180 each 4 L31 Attackers in PEGASE Wanzers Body-240 Legs-228 Arms-180 each 1 L29 Carrier in Natural truck Body-200 Special: 2 L31 Commanders in INNOVA mechs Body-600 ------------------------------------------ NOTES: The INNOVA mechs are a pain in the ass. Take them on with multiple Wanzers at a time. This is the second to last mission. STRATEGY: Charge up the stairway nearest to your main squad (the bigger one) and take out anything you can along the way. Have the small group only attack anything that shoots first. Just shoot everything to win. ------------------------------------------ Final Mission- Abomination Enemies: 3 L30 Attackers in ELDOS Wanzers Body-228 Legs-204 Arms-156 each 3 L30 Attackers in KOPON Wanzers Body-228 Legs-204 Arms-168 each 2 L31 Missilers in VALIANT Wanzers Body-324 Legs-240 Arms-215 each Special: 1 L29 Koichi Sakata in GROWNING mech Body-345 Legs-250 Arms-200 each 1 L44 Driscoll as Abomination (first form) Body-999 1 L44 Driscoll in TYPE11DS mech (second form) Body-250 Legs-250 Arms-180 each ------------------------------------------ NOTES: The names for Driscoll's first form and the KOPON Wanzers are incorrect, but again, I have no font with the Greek alphabet. The translation calls Koichi by another name, but this is the right one. You will hate this mission. STRATEGY: For the first part of the mission, concentrate on the side groups of enemies. Next, focus in on Koichi. Afterwards, take a few turns to repair with any items (but leave some). Then, attack Driscoll. Focus on the central part. WARNING: Driscoll has a powerful minigun (about a 5X75 attack power). He uses it once per turn, but once per part in his first form (ie, 3 times). This is why I recommend using multiple people. After that, fall back and fight the next form. This form uses Speed Lv3 (at least that's all he used on me). Kill that and you're home free! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------------------ 3- Codes ------------------------------------------ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These are all PAR (pro action replay) codes. Easy Kill- 7e06e400 7e06e600 7ea73300 NOTES: This only works during the PLAYER TURN in the missions. Just deliver one hit to an enemy's BODY and they'll explode. The only exception is anything with a BODY HP of 256 or more. These have to be hit 2-4 times to die. EXP- 7e02fe0f 7e02ff27 NOTES: The EXP codes are glitchy. They usually level you up to around 26-27, and then stop working. I don't know why, but this is the most stable version I've found yet. Money- 7e129c7f 7e129d96 7e129e98 NOTES: This code gives you infinite cash in towns when activated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------------------ 4- Credits/Copyrights ------------------------------------------ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The version of this guide you are using (1.0) was created by Fletcher Arnett, and finished on 10/24/2001.
