Square has delayed the launch of the PlayOnline network. When will it see the light of day?

According to Famitsu.com, Square's PlayOnline network has been postponed from the scheduled spring 2001. The online network is now set to launch in winter of 2001. What's the reason for the setbacks? Well, there really isn't any solid excuses.

Does this mean we'll see a delay in Final Fantasy XI? Most likely it won't be shipped until 2002.
