Newfound Nintendo/Square relationship looks grim. |
Although Hisashi Suzuki was recently quoted as saying "as president [of SquareSoft], I'm working hard to bring out the games on a Nintendo system, and I would like to continue to do so in the future," Nintendo's own Hiroshi Yamauchi shot down Square's comments almost as fast as they made them.
"We do not have a contract with Square, and do not plan to even consider a contract in the future...[Square] is free to say whatever they want, but we have no intention of signing a contract, and there's little chance of one being signed in the future," Yamauchi spat.
As quoted by Gamers.com, It looks like the 1996 split between the two companies will end over the president's dead body, which can't be too far off...
