March 28, 2008, Square Haven has ceased updates indefinitely. Don't despair, however; the work started here more than ten years ago continues at Videogam.in.

What an INCREDIBLE FOX Matsuno is!It is rumored that the February 7 issue of Famitsu will contain an interview with Yasumi Matsuno and Shigeru Miyamoto in which Matsuno "suggests" that Nintendo is collaborating with Square on Final Fantasy XII and Miyamoto laughs and Matsuno acts coy. In December, Matsuno "suggested" in a Dorimaga interview that gameplay elements in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance would also be used in FFXII.

Yeah, I figured that much when they mentioned the FFTA-FFXII link earlier on. How could there be a link if one game was for a Nintendo system and the other was for Sony? That would be pointless marketing (possibly not even allowed by the companies involved). So it might turn out true. Holy shit!

I dunno, I'm a bit skeptic after reading a similar topic over at Gaming Age:

http://forums.gaming-age.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16928&perpage=20&highlight=final%20fantasy&pagenumber=3

They seem to be implying that it was a joke, but who knows? We all thought Final Fantasy X-2 was a joke. :p

I am skeptical myself, but let's assume there's some validity to it. (It could really be a 2ch joke, but I'm not going to check.)

It seems improbable that Square would even allow one of 2003's signature titles to go to the GameCube, but it seems they gave Matsuno free rein to do whatever he wants now. I didn't think Matsuno would make an FFT sequel... for the GBA, of all systems. If anything, I figured he would start a new Ogre game, which actually makes sense for, uh, credibility among real Matsuno followers. It's encouraging that FFTA won't be a wholesale ripoff.

Let's say that FFXII on the GC is Matsuno's call. You think he cares about user base? FFXII probably is doomed to mainstream failure without the hype, but it'd probably sell a million copies on the GameCube, which would be better than KH.

Who the hell is Hideo Sakaguchi?? He ruined the comments layout! Use a hyperlink next time!

Anyway, Famitsu gave FFTA 34/40! 8/8/9/9... must be pretty decent then.

As for the GA forums... I never believe a thing they say in the first place.

You are right, SQUALL2020420. Thank you for reaffirming our beliefs and abolishing our skepticism!

Why would anyone make a game for the gamecube when it has one tenth of the market share
pixel
Go to the GameCube? How stupid is that...And Squall...yes the originals were on Nintendo systems...but that doesn't matter. Maybe you can afford to buy that piece of shit system called the GameCube, but others of us are smarter/content with our PS2s/poor/cheap to buy it just for one game.

Why the fuck do you care? As long as it's on your precious PS2 as well, what does it matter to you, fanboy?

There is no doubt that FFXII will be on the PS2. For Square to release it exclusively on Gamecube would be asinine.

whatever the case, it'd be nice if you can keep going in levels, HP, and hit points other than just 99, 9999, I think it would be sweet if you can keep on getting stronger and hit more than 9999 on the enemy. Just think, being in level 123, having 12,326 HP, 2,981 MP, and being able to hit 23,762 on the enemy, and it keeps getting higher and higher, then maybe they can make enemies even more stronger that the Ruby or Emeral WEAPON. Just a thought.
