Famitsu and others have rated the upcoming Final Fantasy X-2. Listings inside! |
Famitsu, Dorimaga and THEPLAYSTATION2 went down on FFX-2 this week and came back with some pretty comforting results; while not the mindblowing hit it could be, sure, FFX-2 is a pretty damn good game.
- Dorimaga: 8 / 9 / 10 / 9 / 9 (Total 9,0)
Dorimaga mentioned that the conversion of the FFX system to the FFX-2 system was good; battles require more strategy and take longer than in FFX, and the atmosphere is thick because it can and does build on FFX's story. Although only 3 characters are allowed in one party at any time, the Dress-Up System makes up for that by being highly versatile. New gameplay is explained in a comprehensive tutorial, and while you don't have to play FFX to understand FFX-2's plot, you might be missing out if you didn't. - Famitsu: 9 / 9 / 8 / 8 (34/40)
- THEPLAYSTATION2: 10 / 8 / 9
All in all it seems FFX-2 pulled off being a sequel, but we'll have to see for ourselves when it's released in NA this November.
