E3: Final Fantasy XII loses random battles |

Various impressions pouring in from people playing the Final Fantasy XII confirm that the game no longer uses random battles and a seperate battle screen in its battle system. Instead, Matsuno says that the team decided to combine the best aspects of MMORPG game design with traditional console RPG design, leading to a more freeform battle system along the lines of Vagrant Story - you control three characters onscreen and are able to issue commands to all of them. |
