Dragon Quest VIII lands in Japan |
|
The highly-anticipated Square Enix RPG, Dragon Quest VIII, is finally on shelves all over Japan, or at least it's supposed to be. With huge turnouts expected, Square Enix has set up a release party in Tokyo. |
The chance of finding a copy might be a bit difficult, as this game is projected to overcome its predecessor's record of 4.12 million sales. This is not a wild claim, however, as the reaction to the release will show. While online companies like Amazon are more popular than ever, there was still a line of around 300 people outside of Yodobashi Camera's Shinjuku Hobby Store before it opened.
Yuusuki Asano, a 24-year old university student, was the first to get his hands on the much sought-after title. In commemoration of the big event, Asano had his picture taken with Youichi Wada and Yuujii Horii of Square Enix.
Though no dates have been set yet, Wada has commented that they will be releasing Dragon Quest VIII outside of Japan with a greater interest in the series' oversaes promotion.
