Versus XIII tidbits surface Motomu Toriyama mentioned in an interview with Dengeki Online that the upcoming Playstation 3 action RPG Final Fantasy Versus XIII will run on the White Engine designed by Yoshinori Kitase's development team. Reportedly, character designer Tetsuya Nomura aims to create fight scenes reminiscent of Advent Children. The story will involve a yet unrevealed heroine and a silver-haired protagonist. The latter, heir to the throne of the last kingdom to possess a sacred crystal, sports eyes that glow red during battle. Toriyama, director of Final Fantasy XIII, also hinted that a trailer for his title revealing new characters will appear sometime soon. RPGFan
Australia and Singapore game concerts announced The Eminence Group will be presenting a concert series entitled "Passion" featuring orchestral arrangements of game music from popular Square Enix titles including Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy XII and Vagrant Story. Special guests Hitoshi Sakimoto and Yasunori Mitsuda are scheduled to attend. Melbourne's Merlyn Theatre will host December 9th, Sydney's Verbrugghen Hall show is scheduled for December 16th, and Singapore's Victoria Concert Hall will round out the tour on December 23rd. Super Mario RPG headed to Wii Virtual Console The ESRB has been releasing ratings for retro titles headed to Wii's Virtual Console. Though the official announcement is forthcoming, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is looking like a sure thing, debuting for a retail price of $8 or 800 Wii points. Other upcoming virtual titles leaked by the ESRB include Kid Ikarus and Punch Out for the NES, Pilotwings and Super Metroid for SNES, along with Mario Kart 64 and Starfox 64 for the N64.
