If you want even more Final Fantasy VIII Merchandise, look to a new horizon; your PC. Digicube recently announced plans for Final Fantasy VIII desktop accessories. Some of the items include: desktop themes, wallpaper, icons, screen savers, and even sounds. It will all be featured on a Windows CD-ROM.
But the most important part of this; a PC version of the card game in Final Fantasy VIII named Triple Triad. It will now be playable over the LAN, but no internet support will be in it. To make up it seems for the loss, the CD will also include FF8 Mail. This mail system will enable gamers to add letterheads, stamps, and so on to their e-mails.
Desktop CD release date? It seems as though the U.S. will be waiting a while for this one. It's set for a September 22nd launch in Japan, at 4980 yen. As for the United States, if anything, will find it's way in later in the year.
