New information emerges concerning the races of Ivalice and the racial controversies which surround them. |
The first of these is the "Bangaa", a reptilian grouping of creatures with hanging ears, some of whom also have shoulder tattoos for unknown reasons. Their intellect and manner of living is similar to the Humes, yet their incredible longevity sees them carry on almost twice as long. In addition, the Bangaa possess an acute sense of hearing and smell as well as high mobility, which makes them ideal soldiers. Their magical abilities, however, are not up to par, though they possess several exclusive higher-level spells. Ultimately, though, their majority has been relegated to physical duties, and is socially beneath both Humes and Viera.
There are also four different types of Bangaas. These are the Bangaa Ruga with yellow-brown skin, the Bangaa Faas with bronze skin and shorter ears, Banga Bista with red-brown skin, and the Bangaa Sanga with ash-colored skin, all in addition to breed mixes.
Most familiar are the Moogles, who also make an appearance. The average Moogle's height ranges from 80 to 120 centimeters and their wings lend them the ability of flight. With a superior intellect over Humes and nimble fingers for tinkering, many partake in engineering work, although a number of their population remains to take the tasks of knights or mages. With their own capital, Moogles are highly respected by the Humes, which is just as well, considering they could easily blast the humes into oblivion. Moogles were also responsible for the first airships and readily manufacture war machines.
The final race is referred to as the "Seeq", a peoples of portly proportions partitioned from pigs (try saying that--oh, to hell with it). Despite amazing upper-body strength, powerful defense, and equally speedy movement, the Seeq have an (unsurpsingly) low intellect and know little of the hume tongue. For the most part they are occupied as mercenaries, guards, or hunters, with a significant amount going into thievery (again, unsurprsingly). The Seeq are also attracted by shiny objects, and reek of Zelda deja vu.
