Square Enix has finally unveiled the actor listing for upcoming Kingdom Hearts II, which includes some familiar voices and several new faces. At least that dastardly Mandy Moore is gone. |
And just as the original Kingdom Hearts gained significant appeal and advertising strength by soliciting the voices of popular actors, so does its sequel find itself host to a motley of television and movie personalities.
Haley Joel Osment of "The Sixth Sense" and "Pay it Forward" reprises his role as the game's protagonist, Sora, without significant fanfare.
David Gallagher of "Seventh Heaven" fame returns as the undoubtedly deviant Riku, making us question the nature of darkness.
Hayden Panettiere, a recent addition hailing from "Racing Stripes" and "Raising Helen" will voice Sora's friend Kairi, proving yet again that actors and their characters may differ in volumes.
Jesse McCartney, a new actor for a new character, will be performing the voice of Roxas, doubtless with the boundless dramatic experience he has accumulated on television's "Summerland".
Christopher Lee, whom you may remember as Lord of the Rings' Saruman or Star Wars' Count Dooku, will become the nefarious Diz. Almost as an insult to the acting legend himself.
Steve Burton will once again become Cloud, and with Burton's "General Hospital" guidance engage in a steamy love affair with Aeris.
Rachael Leigh Cook will undertake the daunting task of voicing Tifa, even if her "Josie and the Pussicats" credits are a little foreboding.
Mena Suvari, who is best known for her exploits in "American Beauty", will play our dear , sweet Aeris. Raise a glass, Moore is gone.
Hedy Buress, otherwise known as North America's Final Fantasy X Yuna, will return to play her role yet again in Kingdom Hearts II. With more personality, if we're lucky.
Tara Strong, who has lent her voice in "Rugrats", "All Grown Up", and "The Powerpuff Girls" will now take the role of Rikku. High and squeaky fits the bill.
Gwendoline Yeo who has appeared in both "Desperate Housewives" and "24" as well as acted the voice for Paine in Final Fantasy X-2 will return yet again to undertake her voice role.
Ming-Na, who went down with the ship in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, will receive another chance voicing Mulan.
James Woods, of course, will return to play Hades, with all his toughness in tow.
Zach Braff, most famously appearing on the television show "Scrubs", will be the voice of, yes, Chicken Little.
