Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings for the Nintendo DS features an overhead three-quarters perspective ala Final Fantasy Tactics. Square Enix and Ziyad have decked the halls with some vibrant new screens, and a trailer!
Fran and Balthier are back. Scroll down to the bottom of the page or click here for the Jump Festa trailer.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings adapts the gambit system of Final Fantasy XII to the built-in features of the Nintendo DS. Reportedly, players can attack enemies simply by sliding the stylus over the touch screen. Seasoned veterans of the original title will notice Vaan, Penelo, and Basch are playable, along with the previously announced "LLyud" and two more unnamed winged fighters looking not unlike the Eagle Men species of Tactics Ogre.

A number of creatures from the world of Ivalice appear to be returning as well, like the Bangaas, espers Belias and Hashmal, and beasties Nightmare and the Ring Dragon. Ba'Gamanan will be back for more. Players of the original game will remember him as the green bounty hunter Bangaa following Balthier the sky pirate in Star Wa... I mean, Final Fantasy XII. Expect more information on this high-profile title as it arrives.

To be honest, I wasn't really impressed with the scans I saw of this game. It just looked like some spinoff. The light-hearted character designs weren't too appealing, either, for some reason.

Well, I think the screenshots have changed my mind. It's now some nifty spinoff. The graphics look pretty cool. (Yeah, I'm extremely superficial.)
Guess the soundtrack won't go wrong, either, seeing as how Sakimoto's contributing. I'm not as familiar with Fukui though, unfortunately.

Oh well, looking forward to it.

Yeah, quite impressive.

Those... those can't be 3D environments... Can they??
