Hiroshi Minagawa (皆川 裕史)

Art Director

Game designer Hiroshi Minagawa is credited as "Nigoro" in his earliest game titles. He began work in the game industry on Quest's 1991 sidescolling shooter for the PC Magical Chase, where he served as art director. It was his first project with Final Fantasy XII collaborators Yasumi Matsuno, and composers Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata. He worked with this team again while serving as art director for Quest's strategy RPGs Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre.

Minagawa joined Square Co., Ltd. in 1995 and served as art director on Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story with the core Matsuno team from Quest. He was a key member of Square Enix Division 4, and after working as visual designer and character textile supervisor, he became Final Fantasy XII's co-director with Hiroyuki Itou after the departure of Matsuno from the project.

Together with Taku Murata, Minagawa delivered a post-mortem of Final Fantasy XII at the 2007 Game Developers Conference. He also participates in an interview found on the extra disc included with the collector's edition of Final Fantasy XII.
