Hisashi Suzuki (鈴木尚)

Hisahi Suzuki, an original member of the Square team whose production career hit it big with the advent of Square's success, presided over many hit titles, finally ascending to the company's presidency in the year 2001.

Unfortunately, his term was plagued with less-than-desirable episodes, most notably the outright destruction of Square brought upon by Hironobu Sakaguchi's Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. After the 14 billion Yen disaster, Suzuki stepped down to take a non-voting role on the company's board of directors. He continued on to sit occupy the Square Enix board of directors after the merger of the two companies until his retirement in 2003.

Hisashi Suzuki was also responsible for the creation of DigiCube, a distribution company for which he was the chairman. Alas, DigiCube was liquidated on November 26, 2003, following the announcement of a Final Fantasy XII delay, and just before Suzuki's retirement.
