June Chikuma (竹間ジュン)

Music Composer

June "Chiki" Chikuma has been composing music for games since the debut of the original Famicom Bomberman in 1985. She was behind the music of Hudson's Adventure Island and Faxanadu. She has been involved in creating original music on over twenty Bomberman projects. More recently, she contributed original music to the Ten Plants album, which featured the work of fellow game music mainstays Miki Higashino, Nobuo Uematsu, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Shinju Hosoe and Yuzo Koshiro. Her most recent game project is Sonic and the Secret Rings original soundtrack, for which her group Le Club Bachraf contributed five tracks.

Since 1992, she has studied music composition at l'Institut Superieur de la Musique for the ney, an end-blown flute that figures prominently in Middle Eastern music, depicted in the accompanying profile picture. She gave concert tour in Tunisia organized by the Ministry of Culture in Tunisia and supported by Japan Foundation in 2001.
