Mena Adrienne Suvari was born in Newport, Rhode Island, the daughter of an Estonian-American psychiatrist and a Greek American nurse. She later moved to Los Angeles, attending Providence High School, and appeared in the film American Beauty in 1999. Suvari has voiced the role of Aerith Gainsborough for the English-language localizations of Kingdom Hearts II and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. She revises her role in the prequel Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
