Yuzo Koshiro (古代 祐三)

Music Composer

Yuzo Koshiro is a renowned game music composer. From the age of three he began studying the piano, and took to the violin at age five. As a child he received piano lessons from none other than the film composer Joe Hisaishi.

Koshiro is perhaps best known for his soundtrack to the Super Famicom sidescoller ActRaiser. His other soundtracks include Ys I, Ys II, Streets of Rage, and Shinobi. His music from Shenmue has been performed by a symphony orchestra for the PLAY! A Video Game Symphony concert series.

Most recently he collaborated with Michiru Yamane on Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin original soundtrack.
