Eminence have unveiled a small yet fresh composition from composer Hitoshi Sakimoto on their website for their upcoming concert A Night in Fantasia. While not epic in nature, it does resemble the feel of Final Fantasy XII and does the job of providing background music well. Check it out
- Eminent Square musicians headed to Australia
Eminence, as previously advised is holding its next two concerts in the Night in Fantasia series in Sydney and Melbourne. Joining the already superb list of guests consisting of Hitoshi Sakimoto, Yoko Shimomura, Yasunori Mitsuda (Sydney only), Junichi Nakatsuru and Masaru Shiina will be Kow Otani (Shadow of the Colossus, Haibane Renmei) and Shiro Hamaguchi (orchestrator of many modern FF pieces including One-Winged Angel. (Both of the additional guests will be in Sydney only.) Will the Mitsuda be revising his performance of signature Celtic music on the bouzouki? - Australia and Singapore game concerts announced
The Eminence Group will be presenting a concert series entitled "Passion" featuring orchestral arrangements of game music from popular Square Enix titles including Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy XII and Vagrant Story. Special guests Hitoshi Sakimoto and Yasunori Mitsuda are scheduled to attend. Melbourne's Merlyn Theatre will host December 9th, Sydney's Verbrugghen Hall show is scheduled for December 16th, and Singapore's Victoria Concert Hall will round out the tour on December 23rd. Five hundred thousand. That is the number of copies that Square Enix's Ultimate Hits budget series has sold since its inception in September 2005. Since then, it has been a remarkable tool for the company to curb the high prices associated with the sales of used titles and personally pocket the popularity of their classics. To accompany this tremendous success, Square Enix will be releasing no fewer than sixteen more titles into the Ultimate Hits line on July 20, including Valkyrie Profile and Final Fantasy Tactics. - Yasunori Mitsuda's on track for 2005
According to a special feature released on the Dengeki Online website, everyone's favorite Chrono composer is set to release a Chrono Cross Arranged album sometime in July. Along with the new Chrono Cross album will come a colaberation piece between Mitsuda and Masato Katou (the writer behind the Chrono series) entitled Kirite. The new album will not only contain music, however, as the disc will also be filled with pictures and stories. While this is not it for Yasunori, the games he is involved with have yet to be announced. RPG Fan
