Final Fantasy IX Delayed, Earnings Reduced for Square |
|
Square confirms a delay for Final Fantasy IX as Square's earnings for the fiscal year are cut. |
Final Fantasy IX has been officially delayed to fall of 2000. The delay has been feuled by both development setbacks and Enix's Dragon Quest VII, which was scheduled for release a mere month before Final Fantasy IX. Releasing both games simultaniously would spell disaster for both titles.
Because of the delay of Final Fantasy IX, Square has cut their anticipated earnings by $100 million for the current fiscal year, ending in March.
