Square unveils blessed GBA lineup |
|
At long last, Square has finally announced its lineup for the Gameboy Advance. Four titles are currently in the works, including new Final Fantasy and Seiken Densetsu games. |
Square has announced its official lineup of games for Nintendo's Gameboy Advance, and the list is looking good. Four games were officially announced for the GBA, along with their Japanese release dates.
The games are...
- Chocobo Successor - Late 2002
- "New" Final Fantasy Tactics - Winter 2002/Early 2003
- Seiken Densetsu - Summer 2003
- Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle - Spring 2003
Final Fantasy Tactics, one of the first Square titles announced for the GBA, is a port of the PlayStation version, not an entirely new game. The Gameboy Advance version of Final Fantasy Tactics is expected to have several new features, though the two FMV scenes included in the PlayStation version are likely to be removed.
The new, and unnamed, Seiken Densetsu (also known as the Secret of Mana series) title is being co-developed with Brownie Brown, a Nintendo-owned second party developer made of up several ex-Square employees.
No details have been given on Chocobo Successor.
