It's a bird the size of a freakin' plane Residents of several villages in southwestern Alaska reported sightings of an eagle-like bird approximately the size of a small airplane. The bird, which witnesses claimed has a wingspan of 14 feet, threatens to perplex scientists to no end, if in fact it actually exists - only the Steller's eagle, a piscivore weighing up to 20 pounds with a wingspan of 8 feet, comes close to the mystery bird's alleged size. Earlier this evening at approximately 9:20 PM, an unusual red bug mounted the STAT button on a TI-83 calculator located at the Salisbury, MD home of Matt Berti. The unusual insect continued his bizzare thrusting for a few munutes, but subequently met his untimely death when he was soon after squashed by Webster's Pocket Thesaurus. Link
Final Fantasy X-2 dialogue translations Gameforms has translated into English the most recent media released by Square. Like the screens themselves, the translations reveal very little of the game. Gameforms also reports, however, that Square will opt to discard all of Final Fantasy X's battle functions - such as Sphere Grid, Overkill, and Overdrive - in place of brand new ones. Link

Final Fantasy X-2 site launches Since I'm the only staff member here that cares about you, I feel it's my obligation to let you know that Square has launched the Japanese site for Final Fantasy X-2. And since we're such good pals (even though you stole may bandwidth, but it's okay because I forgive you) I'll also tell you that Square has replaced Nobuo Uematsu in favor of Noriko Matsueda and Takahito Eguchi for composing FFX-2 music. In addition, Square has released new Yuna artwork, which you can steal from Gameforms for now. Link

Square considering Final Fantasy VII sequel According to Japanese site Quiter and the upcoming issue of Famitsu, Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase is interested in making a direct sequel to Final Fantasy VII, which is often cited as the most popular installment of the series. Tetsuya Nomura also expresses such interests. Although there are no plans yet and the title is still under consideration, Final Fantasy VII-2 could very well become a reality in light of Final Fantasy X-2.
