The Final Fantasy archives page on the Square Enix homepage no longer links to the ancient homepage of Final Fantasy VII, allowing some half-cooked folk to believe that maybe they're gearing up for the unveiling of a new homepage, like for a remake, or a sequel.

- Drakengard enters Japanese charts at number 1
PS2 title Drakengard slipped comfortably into a number one position in the Japanese charts this week, selling around 125k units and proving that it really is as badass as we thought it would be. Gamesindustry.biz

- Stubborn Final Fantasy VII-2 buzz persists
As reported earlier today, Square Enix has removed from their website all links leading to their old decrepit Final Fantasy VII coverage; some would say to make way for revamped coverage in anticipation for a sequel (form your own assumptions?). In addition, Gamers.com has published an article with a picture depicting a Tokyo Games Show goodie bag with a silhouetted group of The Turks on it, hereby spurring more rumors of a Final Fantasy VII-2 surprise at TGS.
- Surprise Gamecube price drop?
Reuters reports of a possible but unconfirmed Gamecube price drop to $99 that, were it to take affect, would materialize by the end of the week. The article offers various tidbits of possible proof, including upcoming Wal-Mart and Target circulars that state a $99 price point for the Gamecube. Nintendo has declined to comment on the matter, however. Reuters.com
