Star Ocean 3 confirmed for Europe Ubisoft announced today that it has acquired the rights to publish Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time in Europe sometimes this Autumn. The game has already been announced for release in North America this August and will be shown at E3 in two weeks.
Additionally, Square Enix also unveils new mobile phone line-up Alongside its E3 announcement today, Squenix also mentioned that it would be showing several new mobile phone games, presumably to further deploy its mobile phone operation in North America. Three of the four titles announced are unspectacular - Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and top-down shooter Brave Shot - while the fourth is more intriguing: Before Crisis - Final Fantasy VII. It seems we now have our Final Fantasy VII sequel, although any more info will have to wait until the showfloor two weeks from now.

Major FFXII delay announced Square Enix pushed back the Japanese release of Final Fantasy XII from Summer of this year to late 2004/early 2005. This is already the second delay, and may also be linked to a plan to release Kingdom Hearts II and Dragon Quest VIII before FFXII. Or they could just be shortening Ashe\\\'s skirt. Link
E3: Square announces Brave Fencer Musashi sequel for PS2 Today Square annonced the long awaited sequel to the sleeper hit Brave Fencer Musashi, entitled Samurai Legend Musashi. The game will follow its predecessor as a 3D platformer but with more expansive levels, Cel-shaded graphics, and a completely re-designed hero. 1up.com
E3: Square Enix DS title will be playable At today\'s press conference, Square Enix commented on its efforts for the upcoming Nintendo DS handheld, stating that it has one title in the works that will be unveiled during E3, but not what it is or whether it would be a launch title. However, it will apparently be available in playable form after tomorrow\'s official unveiling of the DS by Nintendo. 1up
E3: Details on Final Fantasy XII from new trailer surface 1up\'s David Smith has a few new impressions of Final Fantasy XII. It seems that the young prince-like figure shown with Ashe in many of the FMV shots is actually a villain, whose name is Basch. Described as a knight gone bad, he murders his king and fellow knights for thusfar unclear reasons. Other minor new information includes Vaan\'s initial companion Penelo, with whom he seems to be earlier during the game before becoming imprisoned and meeting Fran and Balthier. The trailer also showcases more of the airship wars and some clips of summon animations. Producer Yasumi Matsuno also made an interesting statement regarding the title, saying \"I believe Final Fantasy XII is akin to extremely exquisite silverwork.\" Intricate craftsmanship then? Square Enix Nintendo DS line-up revealed According to the Nintendo Developer Fact Sheet, Square Enix has several games in development for the Nintendo DS, which was unveiled earlier today. The document mentions two games as parts of already existing series: a new Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game, and a new Dragon Quest Monsters title. A third game will be on display during E3: Egg Monster Heroes, which appears to be part of the Hanjuku Hero series of games. The fact sheet also has a short description of the title: \"In the first segment, players control a general and his troops. Flip them from behind to make them charge the opponents. Next, players enter into the ?Egg Monster Battle,? where players can touch their monsters? bodies to choose an attack method while aiming at opposing monsters? weak parks.\"
E3: Final Fantasy XII loses random battles Various impressions pouring in from people playing the Final Fantasy XII confirm that the game no longer uses random battles and a seperate battle screen in its battle system. Instead, Matsuno says that the team decided to combine the best aspects of MMORPG game design with traditional console RPG design, leading to a more freeform battle system along the lines of Vagrant Story - you control three characters onscreen and are able to issue commands to all of them. E3: Square Enix announces delay for upcoming Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, or Kingdom Hearts titles President Youchi Wada commented to the press yesterday that in order to maximize profitability of its three pillars Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts, release of the latest episode in one of the series may be delayed until anywhere from April 1 2005 to March 2006. He also told Reuters that \"We\'re still finalising our plans, but we could finish developing the game and just push the launch date back.\" The company already delayed Final Fantasy XII from its August 2004 release window into early 2005.
Sprint and Square Enix team up for mobile services Square Enix Mobile and Sprint will be partnering to offer mobile gaming to subscribers of Sprint\'s PCS Vision wireless network.
