- ActRaiser trademark re-registered by Square Enix
Square Enix has reportedly secured its trademark on the Enix franchise ActRaiser, fueling speculations that the series, last seen on the SNES, is in the process of revival for a brand new PS2 release or as a Game Boy Advance remake. Or perhaps it just means nothing. 1UP.com

Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy X-2 International+Last Mission, to be released in Japan on February 19 next year, will include a movie of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. - Sony preparing Final Fantasy XI bundle
With Final Fantasy XI recently released on the PC (and doing quite successfully), Sony now has to make sure its end of the deal is good to go for the upcoming March 23rd NA release date. As such, it announced that it would be bundling FFXI with the required 40GB hard drive (pre-installing the game for your convenience) at the cosy price of $99. The other required peripheral, the broadband modem, will not be included in the deal. Gamefront
- Squenix's comment on the PSP: "no comment"
Upon Koei's recent commitment to Sony's PSP, the Japanese press looked to Square Enix for comments on a commitment to the handheld, to which Square Enix president Yoichi Wada replied "We cannot say whether development is moving forward or not." Given Sony's controlling interest in Square Enix, however, it is speculated that Square Enix titles would no doubt grace the PSP. As to what level Square Enix will support the PSP, or whether it will favor it over the Game Boy Advance is not known. 1UP.com
- PlayOnline not subject to term "sucking", proves Square Enix
Back when Final Fantasy XI first launched in Japan, critics (and gamers) were skeptical as to whether or not it would actually be a success - especially after the launch of the network it ran on, PlayOnline, which crashed and burned under the underestimated traffic. Luckily, Square Enix appear to have things under control almost two years later, now that the title has been released in North America: 400,000 gamers are currently using the network, making it a pretty huge success. Who said Square didn't know what they were doing? Gamefront

- Matsuno comments on Final Fantasy XII
The Magic Box reports that Final Fantasy XII mastermind Yasumi Matsuno talked a little about his latest creation in July, at the Playstation Meeting, for god's sake, stating that it would come on two DVDs, feature "tighter controls", a less important love story, a huge "world map", resemble his 2000 opus Vagrant Story, and cause people to ask "Is this Final Fantasy?". He neglected to comment on whether or not Van has a bare ass like VS hero Ashley Riot.

- Unlimited: SaGa out in Europe
Square Enix Europe and Atari yesterday released Unlimited: SaGa in Europe. The only reason this is interesting is because I was in a store picking up Viewtiful Joe and happened to notice that it not only comes in deluxe cardboard embossed packaging with a 3-panel character art foldout, but also contains a second disc with the European version of Final Fantasy X Eternal Calm. Mmm-mm good.
- Final Fantasy X-2 homepage opens
Check out them titties at SQEX's official Final Fantasy X-2 homepage! I did not check out them titties, especially not Rikku's overappreciated rack, which lead to many of my co-workers thinking I am gay. So be warned. FFX-2 homepage
- Final Fantasy XII delayed
With the initial commercial campaign for Final Fantasy XII starting up on November 19th, Square Enix has curiously opted to delay the release of the game into the next financial year (04/05). Previously, it was set for a release in this financial year which ends on March 31st 2004. So it may just be delayed by a day then. Right.
- Final Fantasy XI for PC out today in NA
You know what they say - time to go out and buy that game! Also time to go out and buy a new harddrive and graphics card, because no way you're going to play it without 6gb of space and 128MB of pure polygon-pumping visual power! Buy it
- Final Fantasy X-2 will kick ass in NA and Europe
Famitsu reports that the much hyped Creature Creation system that will be in the upcoming Japanese release of Final Fantasy X-2 International+Last Mission has also been confirmed for the NA version of the title, leading Gamefront to believe that the NA version of the game will, in fact, include all elements of the International version. And if North America is getting it, then Europe is likely getting it too. Hopefully they won't muck up the NTSC to PAL hertz conversion this time around. Gamefront

- "There will be no Final Fantasy VII remake", says Square Enix
At a TGS press conference, Square Enix officially stated that they will not be making a remake of Final Fantasy VII. Gamespot reported that the company would only consider such an endeavour once the original were no longer available on current hardware, but since the PS2 (and PS3?) has backwards compatibility, anyone can still play the original, making a remake pointless in their eyes. Gamefront
- More Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children details
To rid you of any confusion, Square Enix announced that the previously announced DVD movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will have a running time of around one hour and be released in summer 2004. Speculation that the movie would be a trailer for an upcoming game seems less likely in light of the movie's length.
