- Ambrosia Odyssey revealed
Square Enix revealed a new "3d multiplayer online action RPG" called Ambrosia Odyssey, which will apparently be based around "automatically generated" history, dungeons and towns. The game will begin beta testing in Spring 2004. Gamefront
- Final Fantasy XII information to be released on November 19th
Square has a poster on display in its booth that depicts "FF12" alongside the date of November 19th, 2003. Coincidentally, a Square Enix website has also popped up stating the same thing. At long last, the information train for Final Fantasy XII appears to be coming. FF12 Booth Poster
- You bastards were right; Square Enix reveals Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Quiter is all over the latest issue of Shonen Jump, in which Squenix unveiled a Final Fantasy VII sequel entitled "Advent Children". The scanned pages [1 2 3 4] show images of newly rendered Cloud and Sephiroth from the "sequel", which will be a DVD movie which takes place two years after the events of the game. Kingdom Hearts II and Chain of Memories are also on display, featuring Sora, Donald and Goofy, as well as a hooded Mickey from the previously shown Deep Dive movie, and some of the "unknowns". - Stubborn Final Fantasy VII-2 buzz persists
As reported earlier today, Square Enix has removed from their website all links leading to their old decrepit Final Fantasy VII coverage; some would say to make way for revamped coverage in anticipation for a sequel (form your own assumptions?). In addition, Gamers.com has published an article with a picture depicting a Tokyo Games Show goodie bag with a silhouetted group of The Turks on it, hereby spurring more rumors of a Final Fantasy VII-2 surprise at TGS.

The Final Fantasy archives page on the Square Enix homepage no longer links to the ancient homepage of Final Fantasy VII, allowing some half-cooked folk to believe that maybe they're gearing up for the unveiling of a new homepage, like for a remake, or a sequel.

Finally some interesting information of value for resident naysayer dragmire, as EA has announced a special one-time agreement with Square Enix that will see it publishing Final Fantasy X-2 in Europe in early 2004, instead of Atari. As reported previously, Europeans will be receiving the International version of the game, as was the case with Final Fantasy X in 2001. Gamefront

Square Haven user BattleMax has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII-2, the long-rumored sequel to Final Fantasy VII, is indeed in development for the PlayStation Pocket. Sadly, BattleMax did not reveal a release date or any in-game details about the title, however. In related news, Hurricane Isabel has transformed into a gargantuan 300 mile-wide cloud of love that rains nickels and does your Precalculus homework.

- Final Fantasy XI, PS2 hard drive in March
Sony has announced that the PS2 version of Final Fantasy XI will be packaged and preinstalled with the PS2 HDD hard drive as well as various exciting PS2 demos. The package will be released in March and will retail for $99. Online service is of course extra - you can play Final Fantasy XI for $12 a month. Gamers.com

- Squenix reveals Final Fantasy X-2 International and Last Mission
Unfortunately for Americans, Final Fantasy X-2 is on the horizon, yet Square Enix is already developing the oh-so-unexpected "international" version of the game which will sport an extra dungeon and job class. It will also presumably be released in Europe, further contributing to the major asskicking the company seems to want to do on the continent. Haha to you. Gamefront
- Atari starts to kick ass in Europe
Atari, the European publisher of Squenix titles, has announced that it will be releasing Unlimited Saga: Collector's Edition because the game obviously got so slammed by critics that no one will want to buy it unless they release it with the specified Bonus Disc containing the Final Fantasy X Eternal Calm movie (retitled as "Final Fantasy X-2 Prologue"). Eternal Calm is a 14 minute long movie that was previously available on the Japanese version of FFX International. The contents of the disc have been remastered and are in English with five different languages available in subtitles. Gamefront

The vapid Final Fantasy VII-2 rumors continue to appear in the news, this time suggesting a sequel or remake to be revealed at this month's Tokyo Games Show, as reported by an unreliable Japanese website.
- Front Mission 4 cometh
Hot on the burning heels of Front Mission 1st comes Front Mission 4 for PS2, which Squenix apparently just announced in one of those spiffy Japanese gaming magazines. Here's something to look at. The story will take place between Front Mission 1 and 2 and concern main characters Elsa and Darryl, with a release date of Winter 2003. Oh, and this is Square Haven's 600th news post. Yay! Gamefront
- Final Fantasy X inaugurated into Greatest Hits
Final Fantasy X can now be purchased for $19.99 as a part of the Greatest Hits line of PS2 games. The inclusion as a Greatest Hit has no doubt been made to coincide with the December release of the sequel, Final Fantasy X-2.
- Mitsuda is a Chrono loyalist
According to Yasunori Mitsuda's official website, Procyon Studio, the former Chrono series composer wouldn't mind being involved in a 3rd Chrono game's soundtrack. - Disney says Kingdom Hearts II at TGS; TV show rumored
Disney has reportedly confirmed that Kingdom Hearts II is in development and will be revealed at the Tokyo Games Show in September. Square Enix, however, has remained silent and has yet to officially confirm that the title even exists. In other Kingdom Hearts news, Disney is planning a Kingdom Hearts TV show, although the country in which the show will air has not been announced. Gamers.com
