The Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter Original Soundtrack is certainly the best in the series, thanks to the contributions of estimable game composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. The game sports a more futuristic sound than previous incarnations. The epic quality of tracks like "Lift" and "The Power Plant" lend some gravitas to the rather lighthearted series, while "The Industrial Plant" and "Ranger Base" demonstrate Sakimoto's unparalleled skills for creating layered compositions. Overall, the soundtrack comes highly recommended. Fans of Sakimoto's Final Fantasy XII soundtrack will be interested in this Playstation 2 OST.
