And it's true; Lady Buttmunch would make perfect sense, but only if you didn't know me personally. Almost like Rachel; to know her, you wouldn't dare call her a lady to her face. She might fart on you.
So that's why she won't show me pictures of herself! She's Baroness Harkonnen! |

Baroness Harkonnen? Is that another made up name like Erzsebet? |
staff |
Ha! More proof that your literacy ends where your beauty begins.

What are those big metal things? |

He has a skin/tissue/muscle disorder which can only be "fed" by drinking the blood of Harkonnen slaves, so he connects tubes to those valves which directly siphon from the victims. |

If you haven't already figured it out, the Baron's from Frank Herbert's "Dune"... you know, the book? (or I guess you could catch the movies that have been made)...

I knew, I was just teasing Rahul. Mostly referencing this:
Rachel: what kind of names do you like that are unpopular?
Rahul: hmm
Rahul: erzsebet
Rachel: that's not a name, that's a bad Scrabble hand |

high fives to bob for anticon, and dose one, and to steve for currently playing andrew bird.
i've been listening to every time i die - gutter phenomenon, and that's all i've to say. |

Andrew Bird's "It's a nervous head tic motion to the left." Is great.
Man, I'm from Bend, I don't even KNOW how many times I've been snowboarding all day, or biking, came back into to town to find out they were in town playing that night. Then I go see 'em.
tho it's been like three years... |
|
man, i'd love to see andrew bird.
i'm going see sufjan stevens this weekend, which will be pretty exciting. |
vip |
If you like that, you'd probably like "The Robot Ate Me" and "The Boy Least Likely To." |
|
i've heard of the robot ate me, but never actually heard their stuff. comprable to andrew bird and sufjan stevens? |
vip |
As comparable as they are to each other, I guess. Not really. Psuedo-pop, so good. |

I saw the man play along with a fabulous drummer. Fake Palindromes with complex and awesome drumming all the same makes it one of the most memorable live experiences. He's really something live. It's one of those things you have to see before you die. At 12 dollars a tick, I really couldn't see an excuse not to. Keep an eye on his tour dates, I'm telling you. He puts on a good show.
Next show I'm going to is The Decemberists. Gonna be a good show! |
vip |
I saw 'em release their new album in the spring.
But the Tain is still such a badass lp to hear.
I love living only 2 1/2 hours away from Portland!!! |
vip |
I have just returned from one of the most amazing concerts I have ever been to.
The Decemberists are absolutely fucking destructively awesome, and I am now a full-fledged fan.
"Scream like you're being swallowed by a whale!"
I totally lost my voice.
Bob... BOB... THE FIRST SONG...Was the ENTIRE "The Tain" EP. Fucking. Awesomeeeee.
I'm going to have to change my PANTS everytime I remember this night. |
vip |
Ha ha ha ha ha! The decemberist are so good. That Rushmore-esque song makes me swoon. Heh heh heh. I saw them in the middle of the afternoon, a lil' overcast, as Portland tends to be. Emerald grass and standing underneath a large ash while allllll my friends clapped and sang along, looks of pure crushing evil joy. And now we're all seperated by hundreds of miles... ah well... Free concerts rock the cabash!

Lately I've been listening to Giant Drag. Nifty music. |
vip |
The best band I've EVER heard is Deerhoof. Yes, yes... Satomi Matsuzaki is so hottt. 'Sounds no less like Alvin (of the Chipmunks fame) joined forces with an experimental noise band and said, "Hey guys, let's get whimsical, I had a long week." Zany, weirdly pretty/cute vocals over fairly minimal sounds that will get a lot of play in your stereo, if only because Deerhoof continues to sound unlike anything else. You kind of want to clap your hands or take a Ritalin or throw a party when you listen to this. If that demeans it, I'm sorry - this CD is a fabulously hyper head-trip.'

The cribs, mainly because they great live and im going to see them.
