Final Fantasy III synopsis

A chance encounter with a sentient crystal propels Luneth from his peaceful village of Ur in search of three others who share his destiny... Together, the four adventurers must master the skills taught by the elemental crystals to vanquish the darkness threatening to engulf the world.

Developed by Matrix Software, Final Fantasy III is among the first Square Enix RPG's to make innovative use of the portable Nintendo console's dual screen and stylus touch pad. Featuring new full motion video sequences and a remixed soundtrack, the game managed to win over many fans of the original 8-bit classic.

Version Information

Originally scheduled for the Wonderswan but never completed, the Nintendo DS Final Fantasy III remake is produced by Akitoshi Kawazu (SaGa) and exhibits fully 3D graphics. It marks the the very first release of the original Final Fantasy III in North America as well as the very last core Final Fantasy title as well.
