March 28, 2008, Square Haven has ceased updates indefinitely. Don't despair, however; the work started here more than ten years ago continues at Videogam.in.
Unlimited: SaGa out in Europe Square Enix Europe and Atari yesterday released Unlimited: SaGa in Europe. The only reason this is interesting is because I was in a store picking up Viewtiful Joe and happened to notice that it not only comes in deluxe cardboard embossed packaging with a 3-panel character art foldout, but also contains a second disc with the European version of Final Fantasy X Eternal Calm. Mmm-mm good.
Kutaragi reveals PSP concept design At Sony's US shareholders' meeting on Tuesday, Playstation master Ken Kutaragi gave a quirky little presentation about Sony's upcoming new strategy involving the PSX and Cell processor. He also showed this design for the PSP, which although definitely not final, is pretty freaking sexy. The PSP will apparently be made to compete with the GBA, N-Gage, iPod, and cellphone/PDA market. Wow.

Final Fantasy XII unveiled One week before Square Enix's official unveiling of the title, Shonen Jump has shots of Final Fantasy XII, which Quiter happily got digitized for you. Judge them for yourself, then get into the forums to talk about it!
Update: The main hero and heroine appear to be named, respectively, Van and Ashe. Whether the two characters merge into a super-summon-hybrid called "Vanish" is unknown as of yet. SHMFoD
Matsuno comments on Final Fantasy XII The Magic Box reports that Final Fantasy XII mastermind Yasumi Matsuno talked a little about his latest creation in July, at the Playstation Meeting, for god's sake, stating that it would come on two DVDs, feature "tighter controls", a less important love story, a huge "world map", resemble his 2000 opus Vagrant Story, and cause people to ask "Is this Final Fantasy?". He neglected to comment on whether or not Van has a bare ass like VS hero Ashley Riot.
PlayOnline not subject to term "sucking", proves Square Enix Back when Final Fantasy XI first launched in Japan, critics (and gamers) were skeptical as to whether or not it would actually be a success - especially after the launch of the network it ran on, PlayOnline, which crashed and burned under the underestimated traffic. Luckily, Square Enix appear to have things under control almost two years later, now that the title has been released in North America: 400,000 gamers are currently using the network, making it a pretty huge success. Who said Square didn't know what they were doing? Gamefront
Squenix's comment on the PSP: "no comment" Upon Koei's recent commitment to Sony's PSP, the Japanese press looked to Square Enix for comments on a commitment to the handheld, to which Square Enix president Yoichi Wada replied "We cannot say whether development is moving forward or not." Given Sony's controlling interest in Square Enix, however, it is speculated that Square Enix titles would no doubt grace the PSP. As to what level Square Enix will support the PSP, or whether it will favor it over the Game Boy Advance is not known. 1UP.com
Sony preparing Final Fantasy XI bundle With Final Fantasy XI recently released on the PC (and doing quite successfully), Sony now has to make sure its end of the deal is good to go for the upcoming March 23rd NA release date. As such, it announced that it would be bundling FFXI with the required 40GB hard drive (pre-installing the game for your convenience) at the cosy price of $99. The other required peripheral, the broadband modem, will not be included in the deal. Gamefront
