March 28, 2008, Square Haven has ceased updates indefinitely. Don't despair, however; the work started here more than ten years ago continues at Videogam.in.

Touted as "The Bodily Sensation RPG," Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors for the Nintendo Wii allows players to destroy adorable slime monsters by swinging the Wiimote like a sword.
Those who would tempt the fates and wield the Wiimote in a battle against nefarious Dragon Quest monsters are encouraged to use an extra strong strap for their own safety and those of others. Square Enix has billed the game as a spiritual sequel to the Japan-only title Kenshin Dragon Quest, a motion-activated plug-and-play TV game.

Dragon Quest Swords uses a battle system reminiscent of first-person shooter arcade games such as House of the Dead and Time Crisis. The Wii picks up on the direction of the player's stabbing motions to stimulate the action of swiping a sword. To defend oneself from incoming attacks, the player can also squeeze the A button to brandish a shield. To inflict damage upon distant enemies, the player can throw a ball of lightning using the B button. There is no MP gauge, so bolts can be hurled liberally.

Swords debuts in Spring of 2007 in Japan with no North American release currently scheduled.

We cannot yet confirm that Dragon Quest IX will actually appear on two cartridges, as this image may be the work of a Photoshop deviant. Nevertheless, we added our watermark to further prove that we here at Square Haven are truly living on the edge. Stay tuned to see if this information is reliable or we are just trying to trick you.

Has the double cartridge for DQIX been confirmed? I thought it was a rumor egged on by that very same (supposedly) photoshopped image.

Damn, I'm so gullible. My source is quickjump and ffrebirth. I'll check it out.

Gamespot says it's so. Their source is also FFrebirth.

Man, I think I'm in love with that female character in the Dragon Quest Swords scans/screenshots/videos. *ahem*

Also, the game itself looks pretty nice. The use of the wii controller looks like it'll be pretty great fun, and a nice twist on the typical DQ gameplay. Looking forward to it, anyway, and it certainly solidifies my need for the new Nintendo console.

DQIX also looks like it'll be a good game; maybe more traditional than DQS, but that's no bad thing.
