Japanese game site Game Manga was invited to attend today's pre-Party conference meeting held by Square Enix. Company president Yoichi Wada presided over the event, revealing new information on several titles currently in development.
Square Enix is working on two Star Ocean remakes for the PSP. Both Star Ocean First Departure and Star Ocean Second Evolution will feature anime cutscenes and 3D graphics. The third Star Ocean game currently in the works is Star Ocean 4, in development by Tri-Ace.
New details on The Last Remnant were released at the event, as well. The game will debut on the Playstation 3 and XBox 360 and receive a simultaneous release in Japan and North America. The developers are hoping the title will reflect the positive international reception of the Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy series.
In other news, Final Fantasy XII International will receive an August 9th release date in Japan. The incremental upgrade will include a Zodiac Job System. Twelve jobs modeled after astrological signs will activate their own separate sphere grids, allowing for greater personalization of specialties, and the acquisition of some new abilities as well.
Other titles covered in the presentation included a new entry in the Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon series. Chocobo no Fushigi na Dungeon: Toki Wasure no Meikyuu is headed to the Wii. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates for the DS will be out August 23, while Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers has no set release date. Movies were shown of both titles. And to celebrate the release of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War, new wallpapers were added to the official website.
Square Haven will be offering coverage of these titles as they are presented on the show floow of the Square Enix Party this weekend.
