Final Fantasy Tactics Story

Overview | Prologue | Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Epilogue

The story of Final Fantasy Tactics is told through the eyes of Alazlam Durai, whose purpose in telling the "Zodiac Brave Story" is to exonerate his father, Olan Durai, who was accused of heresy by the Glabados Church and burned at the stake. It was Olan Durai who wrote the Durai Papers, the true account of the Lion War and of the factions involved in the conflict, which the church had hoped to suppress.

The prevailing wisdom was that Delita Hyral, a commoner, stepped to the forefront to unite a divided Ivalice and ascend to the throne as a national hero. However, Alazlam attempts to set the record straight--reveal the truth--as he presents the Zodiac Brave Story in large part through the eyes of Ramza Beoulve, the son of nobles, whose valiant efforts to save Ivalice from the war-mongering machinations of the Glabados Church earned him ignominy and the church's enduring ire.

The "story overview" presented is actually an attempt at clarifying the potentially unclear aspects of the plot. It does not attempt to summarize the entire story. Basic awareness of the story is assumed.

Corrections, interpretations, and questions are welcome.
