Although you'd never know by looking at her, Yuffie comes from a long line of ninja warriors. She tends to be cocky and selfish, even shady at times, but with her shuriken in hand, there isn't anyone else better to have by your side in a fight. Yuffie can hold her own in a fight. She has a decent amount of magic power and can pack quite a punch.

Acquiring Yuffie

The elusive and sneaky Yuffie can be found in the forests beyond the Gold Saucer near Gongaga and in the Junion forests. Once found, Yuffie is an easy fight. After defeating her, you'll come across a scene on a field. You must correctly respond to Yuffie's inqueries for her to join:

Reply: Not interested.
(talk to her again)
Reply: ......petrified
Reply: Wait a second!
Reply: ......That's right.
Reply: ......Let's hurry on.

Yuffie will escape and steal some gil from you if you try to use the nearby Save Point or if you give an incorrect reply. She can be found again just as easily, however.
